Tech board gurus..is there any way for me to harness the CPU of a PC that's sitting idle?

I moved my Plex server to a new PC and wondering if there's a way to 'extend' my PC's available processing to use the old one easily.
Not sure if this is a massive undertaking or there's some random utility out there that will virtualize the processor and add it to the other one?
Does this make sense?
I'm not running a server farm or anything so looking for something easy/low cost.

The latency of such an utility would prevent it from being effective, unless the processes running under it were specifically designed for this kind of parallel computing.

If it's anything worth a damn, you could try to cluster it into a proxmox datacenter, but then you'd be struggling with latency issues like efrad said on a 1gig link

i wasn't sure if i could install a couple of fiber boards in the 2 PCs and connect that way.
like i said, i have zero experience in this realm.

Does it the old PC have quicksync? Do you share your library with people who do a bunch of encoding? Ubuntu + Plex (with Plex pass) for a hardware transcoding beast
Or set up a docker container to run Sonarr/Radarr/Deluge to keep those services off the new PC. Or throw a bunch of big HDDs and turn it into an UnRAID box

Why do you always make this so hard re: Plex? Just use an nVidia ShieldTV Pro or move everything to a NAS with built-in Plex server, like a QNAP or Synology.

Plex server is running great. I just have an unused pc now I was looking to repurpose.
