preferably one that I can simply plug into a wall outlet. I'm trying to boost the signal to my patio. TIA.

You can get a Wifi Extender that plugs into the wall for $35-$60 if you don't want to buy a whole different system
Added a Netgear to my parents for $35

I also use Google. The older wifi version. All of them can act as router and you can add as many as you need.

I bought two of these from Amazon. Love them and they work great.
Our firestick doesn’t even buffer in the living room and router is upstairs in office

The Netgear wall outlet extender didn't perform well for us, so changed to an Orbi mesh. Works great. Depends on the size and layout of your house. Wall outlet style is probably okay for a single-story smaller house.

I had an extender for a while. The speeds still were not the best. When COVID hit and everyone was home needing bandwidth and speed, I bought a TP Link mesh system. Worked flawlessly and it was super easy to set up. It came with 3 pucks, I eventually bought more and now have 6 pucks covering 3 floors and 4,200 sq feet. Nothing ever buffers now.
