so yesterday in a random thread on the OT somewhere on like page 10 someone asked me about something so i told him to email me and i would send him the link. didnt even put my email addy in, just the usual combo clues so he could figure it out.

didnt think much of it because he said it wasn't worth the effort and i edited my post to remove the email clue.

so last night i needed to get into that trash email which i use for this board & other throwaway crap and it was completely locked down.

because i hardly ever use it i almost couldn't remember which email i had linked to it to get recovery info. i like to keep both my trash emails and trash email recovery accounts far removed from anything i actually use.

essentially it took me about 30 minutes to get everything unwound; change password, send a DNA sample to microsoft, etc etc. and then when i was finally able to log in i saw a shitton of attempts right around the time i posted in that thread of someone trying to gain access so after repeated attempts microsoft locked the account.

i mean are people that retarded around here or are the russians and chinese scraping random posts on here for email addresses to hack. what happened to the good ol' days of gay porn subscription bombs?

i've had that email account since the day i created my alter on here in 2008...err..'changed my user' i mean..and never had an issue in 10+ years.

anyway, lesson learned. blah blah ok boomer blah blah dont ask anyone to email you.
