Soundbar or Other Home Audio Recommendation $300-400

Looking for a recommendation for a soundbar for TV/movie audio and playing music at home. Thinking of buying a nicer soundbar and adding more home theater components to the system down the road.
How is the Sonos Beam? It is on the upper end of my budget. Could maybe stretch the Bose 500 at $550 if it's worth it.
Thanks for the recommendations. I searched "soundbar" and didn't get much results.

I wouldn’t get the Beam without a sub. But that would blow your budget out of the water.

I have a Sonos Beam I got as a Christmas gift, and honestly I wouldn't pay what they charge for it. Granted I don't have the sub or any satellite speakers for it, just the sound bar. It does fill my living room adequately enough, but the $200 Samsung soundbar with sub I have in my basement does a better job than the Sonos does.
My neighbor does have the Beam with the Sub and it sounds 100x better than just my soundbar, but I'm not paying what they charge for the sub.

Vizio is regularly rated better than much higher priced bars.

I recently got a Vizio 2.1 for $180. I was skeptical, but I'll be damned if that thing doesn't sound great. It obviously doesn't do as great of a job as the 5.1 system I took out, but I really like the sound from the Vizio. I recommend it.

I went from 5.1 to a Vizio. I'll never go back.

A few months ago I bought the more powerful Samsung sound bar of the ones in Sam's to go with my 65". I believe it was $159. It sounds great. The only one they had that was better was the Bose

That Vizio you walked right by is better than both.

Accessories4less has the Definitive Technologies W Studio and the Micro versions for less that $350. They’re both great sound bars, but they will be refurbished.

I have a polk magnifi mini that is unbelievable for the price. They also make a magnifi max. Great setup for what it is.

The Pioneer Andrew Jones design may be worth looking into as well. Less than $400 and comes with a nice sub. A buddy of mine had those 5.1 speakers and while not audiophile they do perform well.
