Been down that road once. Ended up with 168 bookmarks and had no idea what most of them were even for a few years later

I'm team No-bookmarks

It's not the bookmarks' fault you were disorganized! Treat them like little files. If you just put all your files in one big bucket, yeah it's going to be useless. Make folders for work and personal. Make a subfolder structure that makes sense to you. Maybe a "read next" folder, then as you work through them trash or move them to a more permanent folder. Make a projects folder with subfolders per project.

Or whatever, just keep the one big bucket as a million tabs in your face all the time and good luck making sense of that.

Please tell me you at least have them spread across multiple virtual desktops.

I thought this too until we recently switched to google workspace and now Chrome takes up 3gb…. I have 4 tabs open. Meet, calendar, gmail, and chat. horseshite

Have you updated Chrome recently? I think this dormant tab is a fairly new feature

Not a big deal, and actually preferable, to use a lot of memory. If it's there but unused, that would be a waste of resources. As long as you're not running out and using swap.

On my PC, just a handful for any given session, and I close them out at the end of every session.

On mobile, I tend to collect them by accident because bookmark > touch is faster than anything else, and that opens a new tab. So once I notice I've gotten to 30-60, I close them all out and start again.
