"Smart Home" advice: moving to a new house

I already have Sonos everything, with Apple Music, so that will not change. Also, using Apple TV for streaming, Eero for routers (will hardwire as much as possible).
I will need:
Thermostats and cameras
I have been using Nest - love it, no problems but open to other suggestions
LED Lighting in certain areas
Need to convert interior floods to LED, preferably some would be controllable.
A system to tie all of this together
To make this a "Smart Home," it would be nice to find a way to tie all of this stuff together. I have heard good things about Savant. Is it even worth it to have something to control everything, or just work within each app? Does anyone have experience in using controllers like Savant/Control 4, etc.?

I have light switches, garage door opener, nest thermostat, and a few outlets all going through Google home minis. I have no issues with controlling everything through either voice commands, or the Google home app on my phone.
I just recently ordered a nest hub so we will see how we like the display.

Honeywell thermostat has been good at my new house pro series with geofencing is pretty cool.

I believe Savant and Control4 require you to have a dealer install and program them.
I am just using a combo of Alexa, Logitech Harmony Hub, and Samsung Smartthings.
But I like tinkering.

We have Nest thermostats, Arlo cameras, Hue lights, Yale lock, smart plugs, Ring doorbell, and other smart bulbs and we use Alexa to control it all. A Show and some Dots.

I have a system sitting in a box that I haven't got around to installing yet. Might knock it out later today. I'm currently using URC. Savant is nice but I don't think it the best option for you if you plan on sticking with Nest. The lighting is badass but very expensive. Savant wants to be that expensive high end control system. The SONOS interface is top notch and their remotes are some of the nicest out there until SONOS breaks it.

pray tell what makes their lighting more 'badass' than other lights? can you do more than have them turn on/off and dim based on other sensors, when you start a show on your tv or control with your voice?
just curious what i'm missing with my 'non badass' lighting.

Sorry buddy, wasn't trying to offend you. Of course your lighting is badass. I just think Savant's TrueImage control is the best interface out there today.

I don't, your phone is listening in on you all the time anyway...
But I don't really care if someone spies on me, I understand the logic of those people that are concerned though

Not everyone wants to screw some surface mount wifi speakers into their window trim brah. People who have nice homes and spent $$ on premium finishes aren't going to do that and they don't want to pull out their phone to turn on a light. (Yes you can voice control)
I said Savant has the best user interface for lighting IMO. From phone/tablet app to wall controllers,remotes,Tstat, and keypads. It's a premium product that is very well designed and has the feel and user experience you would expect from such a product.
Kinda like the guy who commutes to work in the late model S600 has a better driving experience than the dude in the 2006 Corrolla.

Nowhere did I say anything about the set up of the product.
If you weren't such a Trumpkin I'd swear you were a liberal. My buddy always says don't argue with a stupid person b/c they will bring you down to their level and beat you on experience.

I saw a couple led lightstrips in there and a couple lamps turn on by using an app on on a tablet.

Funny you use the word "revolutionary". That's exactly how it was being describe when it was released at CEDIA 2017. It won Tech Home Mark of Excellence award last year for the human interface product of the year.

and again, we're hailing an app when the whole point of home automation is to make the house smarter without intervention.
pretty sure i haven't opened the hue app to manually turn on/off a bulb in over a year. the only time i use the app is to add/edit/delete devices.
who cares if the app uses AR?
file this under 'gee that's pretty cool' and then the tablet is put down and isn't picked up again for 6 months. voice control >>>>> phone app

Well that's your opinion. Plenty of people aren't fans of voice control. I'm one of those people. I want keypads,wall controllers, and remotes. But if voice control is your thing Savant does that too.
Sorry you don't understand the difference between having a bunch of smart doodads and a fully integrated control system.

Not necessarily. I see automation system installed on a regular basis that use a dedicated iPad as a controller. Either table top, surface mount, or flush mount sometimes multiple iPads on one job. Sometimes an iPad is cheaper and is already familiar with the end user. Believe it or not there are entire companies that make mounts just for iPads in home automation applications.

If that one app controlled everything in your house you would use it everyday.
