Nice to know. I’ll have to start weighing each streaming services options once football starts back.

I had the typical Cox promotional BS. The problem was that their retention dept wanted to downgrade our services to basic with only sports pkg and my bill would still be $330 with Internet. Part of my issue is that I have the top tier internet but that is a must at my house.

Nonetheless, it feels great to drop their cable service and not haggle every 12 months. I get what I want for a 1/3 of the price.

Streaming services are no longer the no brainer cost saver. I have been paying $105 (including taxes) for DirecTV for 2 years now and it has many many more channels than the various streaming services and no sports delay. The $30-40/mo savings is just on the edge of being worth it or not for me. As soon as DTV doesn't renew a promotion on my account, I'll jump ship but for now, it isn't worth changing.

I would love if a provider came up with a pricing model that allows a customer to pick a number of channels for x price per month.

the "cordless era" should have shown you all that this is simply not economically possible

Yeah I just started the free month of 4K. Figured it could be cool for the olympics. Only way I’ll keep it is if they have a bunch of football games in 4K. But not getting my hopes up.

We are back with DISH now, price is basically the same and 4K is included. Plus they all have sling boxes in them anyways to watch away from home.

However, 4K is basically still reserved for either special events or maybe VOD like movies. Not much will change until the channels themselves switch away, which will be some time.
