I bought a 6-pk a few months ago of the warm white. So far, so good. Do recommend.

No way I love my hue! They just don't screw up so I don't come in here and bitch. 
Hue never goes on sale. You just got lucky they were updating their product to 4 bulbs in the starter kit so home Depot put the 3 bulb gen3s on clearance.
