I'm looking to get a few security cameras for my home and want to make sure I'm on the right track as far as choices. I already have a Wink Hub along with a Schlage connect lock for the front door but now want to be able to monitor front and back door and be notified of movement by people. I'm debating the IP cameras such as the Chinese stuff or should I go with something like Arlo? Really want something that is integrated and easy to view on my smartphone.

Most of the stuff these days is cheap chinese and for residential you really don't need anything else.

What do you want to integrated it with ? Wink?

This. I installed 9 Hikvision POE cameras and threw Blue Iris on an old PC. Spent less than $1k doing it all myself.

When I get around to setting up OpenHAB on the same PC, I will have the cameras firing up all kind of scripts when they pick up motion.

One scenario will be firing up the nearest floodlight when a camera detects something.
