Samsung TV turning on by itself

Anyone had this issue with Samsung tv? It happens several times a day and it's a little frustrating. I have searched online and it says it's anything from a firmware issue, remote issue, to replacing the board. Wondering if I got a bad tv and need to exchange it out.

Mine did this but it needed up being a faulty hdmi switcher cable I had. Would just up and turn on at random. Finally figured it out when I touched the cable and it turned on. Removed cable problem solved.

Ok, i'll try this. This seems to be a problem with some of their models. It's been driving me crazy all week.

I think I've found the problem while checking the hdmi cable. My apple tv turned on, I guess to check for an update , and that caused my tv to turn on. I guess there is a setting on the TV that causes this.

Bro, I didn't until this week! I'm all in on CEC! Really didn't know anything about it until I got my new TV. It's been interesting learning everything about them though.
Need to do some more reading on what CEC is and does.

Best thing for me is automatically switching to the right input just by picking up the right remote and hitting a button.
Second is being able to cast a movie to my kids TV down the hall while I'm busy and not having to check if the TV is on or not.
It freaks the kids out though whenever Google pushes a Chromecast update out or something at 2am and the TV turns on aka poltergeist.

Haha, It would scare me much less my kids. It wouldn't be a problem except my tv turns itself on 3 or 4 times a day. Get up in the morning, tv on. Come home for lunch, tv on. Get home from work, tv on. To me that's a bit much, trying some different settings to see if I can make it work for me.

Why are you coming to the tech board with a ghost problem?

I could set you up with a guy that could consolidate all those and make your home smarter.

Been there done that. I have 2 Harmony remotes I haven't bothered to set up since I moved. It was really useful when I had a 7.1 AVR hooked up to 7 HDMI sources and had at least a dozen remotes.
The need simply hasn't arisen yet with just a soundbar and 2 HDMI sources particularly because the xfinity and amazon remotes are RF and the amazon remote is also geared for playing games which you couldn't do with a harmony.
In short, i'm looking for a reason to get back into a harmony but can't justify the cost at the moment because there's almost zero benefit for me at this time given my current setup.
