I miss the place...
I needed to get some banana clips and went by Best Buy but it was so dang expensive I’m ordering them on amazon.

I don’t even know where to go anymore for basic electrical components.
I’m not too keen ordering off of amazon or other websites. Sometimes I know what I need only when I see it.

And rat shack had those walls of trays of odd components that only work in certain situations. Need some of these...3 of those...cpl of these.

I needed 6ft of Type E thermocouple wire the other day. All I could find locally was 100ft spools. No doubt Radio Shack would've had it laying on the floor somewhere

Don’t forget about their Tandy computer line.

It was nice back in the day and were able to look through the capacitors and fuses and resistors and whatever the f to fix that circuit board in whatever burned up now you just have to pay the $150 for the circuit board

Do you have Fry's around? its like you combine a radio shack with Best Buy and Micro Center, then sprinkle a little Barnes & Noble

I miss being able to go there with a circuit project in your mind and piece it together with what was available.
Some places have store like Fry's still. Wish we had one around here.

That made me think of the little project boxes they sold too

I think it would be neat if there was a Radio Shack type of place that also had a makerspace where you could go and use the workbenches and tools and stuff, and there were somewhat knowledgeable people to help you with things.
Are there any places like that around BR?

I know quite a few boomers who I wouldn't trust with anything hot or pointy.
