I'll be able to recover my account on April 2.

Maybe.

You can’t reset it? I’ve done it several times.

For some reason it's making me wait weeks to do it now.

They only make you wait a week if you don’t have the same card information that you had on the account. Most people don’t have to wait a week, it’s normally 24 hours. And that’s if none of the other automatic reset options are available

Edit: did this recently

Now that our entire lives are on our phones, I understand the protection, but damn, it's horseshite that legitimate requests have to be so slow.

I've gone through this twice when I switched jobs and had two-factor authentication turned on with my old work number as the phone number on the account.

As someone else said, be careful when you are resetting a password or recovering account. I was helping a friend and somehow two-factor authentication got turned on once it's on you are unable to turn it off. Not sure when that started by I even asked Apple support and they said the option to turn it off once it is on does not exist.
