PlayStation Vue comes to Roku today...
LINK /
I plan on selling my PS4 soon so I'd like to know if I could go cheap with a Roku purchase or go the Firetv route.

I personally love my new Fire TV. We're very embedded into the Amazon world though. But simple stuff like getting "The Croods" for free on the random Amazon TV banner this weekend was awesome. Always giving away free or discounted goodies.
That being said, I hate that PlayStation Vue channels are ONLY in stereo sound for me on the FireTV. Can't get dolby digital plus like I do on other amazon content.

Just saw an update on /r/vue. The FireTV 2nd Gen is to get 60FPS along with a few other features.
The link below is about PS4, but they mention the FireTV features.

We’ll have enhancements coming soon for Amazon Fire TV as well, including Quick Navigation and a new update that brings 60 frames per second video output for great high definition picture quality to 2nd Generation Amazon Fire TVs.
Since we launched PlayStation Vue last year, we’ve been working on a number of updates to make it the best destination to get your TV fix. We hope you enjoy these new features, as well as using the PS Vue mobile app on your Android device. Tell us what you think!

I switched to Vue last month. I run it through Fire TV. Has been great thus far. Cut out direct tv $120/month now $35!

Also cut the cord for Vue this week. Running on a new Fire Tv and a Roku XD that I already had. Saving about $60/mo over Dish. For those with Fire TV and other components(audio receiver, etc.), I highly recommend the Harmony Smart remote and hub. Picked up a used set from eBay for about $50...works great.

Been looking into this. Right now I have CEC enabled on my TV and can use my TV remote to control Vue and my Soundbar, but if I upgrade to a surround sound system and receiver I will pull the trigger on this

Did they mention outputting sound in Dolby Digital?
Anyone else have the Fire TV (latest/2nd gen) and only get Dolby Digital out of movies? I can't seem to get Dolby Digital through HBO Go or Playstation Vue BUT I definitely get it on some movies through Amazon.
Frustratingly weird.

Ps Vue on PS4 has a dedicated window to show what you're currently watching when you're scrolling through the guide
It's really nice

I have that harmony. Love it. Keep checking slick deals best buy puts it on sale for like $70 brand new from time to time.

For the PS4, there's now a Last Channel option.
Hit the panel button (rectangle button across the controller) then hit X.
I like it..goes along nicely with the TV window appearing while surfing the guide.

I really want to try Vue, but all the IP address issues have me worried because I will likely change ISPs the first time my current ISP gives me shite about data use.
Is it a huge hassle if they lock you out of your account? Does that still happen often?

I only got locked out during my trial and that was the week it went national. I chatted them and it was resolved easy enough. But apparently from what other people say it is just a game of CSR roulette

It happened to me 3 times
Every time was when I switched modems or moved. Every time they canceled my sub (I was about 2 weeks in on all 3, actually) and gave me a months worth of funds in my wallet, which equaled to 2 weeks of free Vue.

Quality is good on Roku. The app itself still needs work - you can tell it was rushed just to get something out the door, but it works.

That's what I'm hearing. Guide is in terrible form.
I can honestly say if they get it to work similar to the Fire TV and PS4, it will be a solid investment.
