Works great for me with just wifi. More stable than watchespn and sling tv. So far no interruptions. we will see how that goes when football starts.

So here's the deal..

I have AT&T Internet and UVerse TV. I got the Uverse TV to prevent an installation charge on my internet. Well, I call to cancel Uverse TV and I'm informed my AT&T Internet will jump up from $40 to $79.99. I absolutely CAN'T go lower than the speed I have (24 mbps).

Well, Internet + TV is $115 a month
Internet + Vue is $110 a month

I decided to not cancel (at the moment), and will weigh my pros and cons. They said there is a promotional $25 off a month for Internet for 1 year on a 1 year contract, but after it'll go back up to $79.99.

I don't know what to do

Any other providers out there with a better deal? What's would just internet be with the $25 promotion.

I am paying $53 and some change for uverse internet at the moment, but my promotion will be ending next month. I plan to call and do the threaten to cancel thing if and see what happens.

Internet would be $54.99 with the 1 year promotion / 1 year contract

That'll total about $85 a month with Vue

That's exactly where I'm at with internet and Vue. Sounds like that's your best deal. In a year you reconsider. There will likely be more options like Vue and Vue will have even gotten better then. You'll have more variables in your decision, but for now you can't beat that.

I decided to go with my Uverse internet (24Mbs is what I pay for but I get up to 29 and never lower than 24) and the very basic Uverse package for another 19.99 a month which includes locals but only in SD with Vue on Fire TV box with Kodi. I kept the 19.99 a month package because it gives me unlimited data on the Internet, I'm gonna test out how much data I use and if I keep it under 600Gbs I will drop the SD channels at 19.99 a month and just use my OTA.

Ok I just dropped SlingTV for Vue but I'm running it on an Amazon Fire tv stick and it's slow and I hate the remote as I have a harmony one. So my questions are what device runs ps vue best, roku or Amazon Fire? Also is their a way to use the harmony remote with one of these devices like I do with my appletv?

I've had the best success with the Fire Tv.

You have to use a remote that is Harmony Hub compatible, as the Fire TV uses a Bluetooth remote.

I am using a Harmony elite with Hub. Works awesome.

roku isn't available for Vue.

Fire TV is what you should have got, to be honest. It runs like a damn charm. They just had an update and the guide navigation is on par with the PS4 now

May just get the Amazon Fire then. However isn't PlayStation announcing new devices in like a week?

Just wanna make my harmony remote compatible but guess I can just buy the hub.

If it's announced, it should be tomorrow.

Rumors are ROKU and Android devices will be announced, though.

So one additional question on the Amazon Fire, can it store purchased movies from blu ray discs? As an example, my wife has purchased Frozen on Blu-ray and saved that information to our current AppleTV account. Therefore we can stream Frozen anytime from our AppleTV.

Does the Amazon fire tv service provide a similar repository of purchased content?

I'm assuming you purchased the Frozen Blu-ray and it also came with a "digital copy". You then used that "digital copy" to buy from iTunes? May not be the correct terminology but sounds like something I've done in the past.

I think you can use that on Amazon but I'm not sure.

I know I purchased Frozen from Amazon directly and can access it from all of my Fire devices, as well as the Amazon Video apps on IPad and IPhone.

JJ, exactly. Purchased the DVD and then used the little key to plop that same movie into iTunes. So if I ditch appletv, do I lose the digital versions of those movies or can I re-associate those digital versions to the new Amazon Fire?
Aka moving purchases from 1 ecosystem to another.

I don't think you can.
IF you're going to go this route of buying dvd's with digital copies, you need to buy them from Walmart/VUDU and keep all your new bought dvd's on VUDU, which is an app you can get on just about every device.

We started adding things to VUDU, then i got tired of paying that much for movies, so i just rent them from Redbox and burn them to my computer and use the PLEX app to watch my digital copies of movies.
