Silly question I guess, but I'm assuming you'd have to make the purchase from Amazon initially? I just bought one from Best Buy

I would assume so. You may want to go to best buy with the amazon deal and they may honor it. Worth a try.

Someone please advise on my current setup.

I have:
Apple TV (not newest)
Chromecast
Firestick TV (prime member)
Cox internet highest speed
Directv ($140/mo)
PS4
HD antenna (still in the box)

I NEED AMC and ESPNs for football really.

How should I best consolidate these?

Thanks in advance!!!

If you get PS Vue for $29.99, you get AMC and ESPN/ESPN2 (as well as log in credentials for Watch ESPN/ESPN3):

quote:

Chromecast - (can broadcast PS Vue from iOS devices (iPhone, iPad)
Firestick TV (prime member) - Good for viewing anywhere but the living room
Cox internet highest speed
PS4 - Put this in living room (or buy Fire TV box for living room)
HD antenna (still in the box) - Keep this for local programming, and hook up to living room TV.

Cancel DirecTV

PS Vue has AMC and all of the ESPNs, even SEC network with their middle their which is 34.99.

I'd suggest using the PS4 on your main TV for PS Vue and Amazon Prime content, fire tv stick in a BR as you can have up to 5 devices with the PS Vue service.

If you have an iPad, keep the apple tv so you can airplay.

Definitely cancel directv, you can try out PS Vue for 7 days for free to make this determination on your own.

Set up HD antenna to catch locals like CBS, ABC, NBC, and Fox although Im reading Vue will have locals available soon.

So at most with PS vue on one account you can only have 5 devices. I dont mean 5 running at once but just 5 total? I have 7 tv in my house that need content. Some less than others but if the wife is to take it seriously it needs to be on all.

I wonder if the price will change once they have them or if it will be another ad on package.

This is just an educated guess on my behalf, but I'd say you can use it on any of your 7 devices as long as you're only streaming on up to 5 at once. You don't really register devices on your account, you simply log into the app and use its services.

I hope not, I'd much prefer sticking to paying for the lowest tier and supplementing with my HD antenna.

Problem there, at least for me, is i have slingtv and hulu with my antenna. I didn't get a Tablo or any other DVR b/c i got Hulu instead. If i get Vue, i want the locals and their DVR service so i can get rid of Hulu.
SLingtv and Hulu is the same cost as PSVue.

Yea, that makes sense. I'm just banking of XB1's OTA DVR update due later this year to take care of that for me.

$10 more, and I hope that they don't push that price on everyone once it happens. $30 a month is a really nice sweet spot, especially with the on demand function for locals.

I don't want to pay $40 for live TV

is there a page where there is photos of the Fire TV and stick interfaces?

Is it like hulu where you just pick shows from that station or does it actually broadcast what is playing on that station and you can pick to play other shows?

That's what the guide looks like..you move left to right for channels and up and down for times. It always sets you on the live axis

No not all at once.

Thats what I was tying to figure out was it as many devices as I want with the ability to 5 at the same time or only a max of 5 devices on the account.

1. Only 5 can be logged in at a time

2. Only 1 PS4 can be logged in at a time

3. Only 1 PS3 can be logged in at a time

4. 5 Fire TVs can be logged in at a time if no other device is being used

All of the TV shows are available to view On Demand (for shows already aired). These On Demand viewings cannot be fast forwarded through. You can add a TV show to a 'My Shows' list, which will "record" the programming for you. Record in a sense that it retains the show for 28 days with rewind, pause, fast forwarding privileges.

If I made a mistake, someone can correct me, but I'm pretty sure that's the gist.

Nope. Not unless you add a TV show to your 'My Shows' list. (Then you can FF through commercials)
