I have two sitting on a desk about to be returned. Screen burn is real.

I love it so far. No problems with burn-in or retention. No screen protector yet. It's very fast and the camera is amazing.

Did you have the clicking from the NFC chip?
The bend break on this one is far worse than Apple's bendgate a few years ago too.

hope so i just really was wanting to keep the XL2 and that's the one with all the alleged screen issues
i might end up downgrading to just the 2, guess we will see.

No screen protector. Have it in a clear bumper case.
Love the device though. No issue and it's snappy as hell. Camera is best ever and battery life is awesome.
Only thing for me right now is lack of root which I can't even tell if anyone is even working on.

I'm not sure I understand but if you are asking why I want to root it's for wireless tether and ads mainly. Other benefits are lagniappe.
If you're asking what is needed for root it's a custom recovery and generally SuperSU or Magisk. None of those things exist yet.

No I was asking why. The tether should be open on pixel and just limited by your data plan.
