I’m at my data storage limit and I’m trying to delete pictures, but about 2-3 seconds after I hit delete, it pops right back up. I noticed the same happening awhile back when I was going through text messages and trying to delete some of those. Any ideas?

It's possible that you're backing up photos to icloud and when you delete from your phone it still shows back up from icloud.

Google suggested something simple as restarting the phone and trying again.

I believe there can be issues like this when you are using icloud to sync imessages to multiple devices. You can keep imessages on but disable the icloud sync feature.

Log in to your iCloud account on your computer and delete them from there. It’s the only way I could successfully delete them.

A quick search in Apple Answers suggests just buying more storage into perpetuity. Why delete when they'll save the thirty rapid shots of your neighbors dog stalking a squirrel?
