PhotoShop Question
Posted by lsuhunt555 on 8/8/16 at 9:13 am00
So we just ordered a new home PC and my wife wants PhotoShop. I have no idea how PhotoShop works, but she seems to be under the impression that you have to pay to install it and then pay a monthly subscription fee. Is this correct?

You pay a subscription. That is it.
I think the Adobe Photography plan is $10/month and includes Lightroom and Photoshop.

If she is a student or teacher or you have a student in the house you can get the full Creative Cloud suite for $20/mo.
I am not sure if those are promotional prices or not.

Plenty of free programs to work with assuming it's touching up family photos and what not. Go to download.com and search though what might work best for you. I think I use photoscape.

Look for Photoshop Elements, It's kind of like a consumer version of Photoshop and has 99% of the features the average person needs. It's a one time fee instead of the subscription model, the current version is going for $85 on Amazon.

Dont forget about Lightroom if just editing photos. The term Photoshop is thrown around a lot by beginners who just want to edit photos, get an Instagram filter look, etc.

Get the Photography plan for $10/month. Photoshop + Lightroom.
It is subscription based... they were losing their arse through pirating throughout the years.

Absolutely, definitely, must download the NIK Collection plugin for Photoshop - from Google. It's ***free***.

Get GIMP. It's freeware and very good.
