People in Lafayette with an antenna, can you get CBS?

I get every other channel that I want in crystal clear HD, really beautiful picture, but I don't even get a signal for CBS. Not that it's fuzzy, I just get a no signal message on my TV. I've seen 10-1, 10-2, 56-1 and 56-2 listed as local CBS and none of them are working.
Am I doing something wrong here or do other people have trouble getting CBS?

Working in opelousas. I think the tower is around church point/rayne.

Isn't CBS on a different wavelength or whatever its called. Your antenna can pick upboth?

You need an antenna that will pick up both VHF & UHF signals.

I have a Mohu Leaf and I get 10-1 and 10-2. Though a few days ago it was out for 24-48 hours.

Were you getting a no signal message or was it just fuzzy? It's showing no signal at all. I'll try moving it around tonight.

Try movomg it around in ur attic facing the direction of ur tower....then go do a "channel search" again and see...repeat process until u get it...cbs was the hardest to find along with other channels all together but im all good now....I dont even have my antenna mounted, I have it leaning against a box in my attic, haha....fyi, the higher ur antenna is in your attic the better reception

I'm on the second story of a townhouse. I just moved it all around probably a 10 ft radius and couldn't even get a signal.

In the attic or in your house?
If your trying inside your attic...your antenna may not be outdoor like you need...what kind do you have? If your trying inside your house it won't work well unless your by a window...I bought a clearstream v2 from Wal-Mart...works great

Use the compass heading from the chart. You can get a compass app for your phone to let you aim it precisely.

Sounds like the same problem I had in BR with channel 9 signal. Then I read this, bought a cheap $10 pair of rabbit ears and pick up channel 9 better than the Supposed HD anntenna I paid $45 for.
quote:
An indoor antenna is subject to multipath signals and digital will not work if multiple signals reach the TV receiver. An indoor antenna also will get 1/2 the signal level of an outdoor antenna. Many indoor antennas are marketed as HD or digital and have an amplifier built in. There is no such thing as a HD or digital antenna and most of these antennas are poor VHF antennas even when marked UHF/VHF. The built in amplifiers can do more harm than good and if you are using an amplifier you might try turning it off and see if the signal gets better.
WAFB is operating on channel 9, a high VHF channel. Channel 9 has a greater loss on an indoor antenna due to its frequency, needing an antenna that is 30" long at half wavelength. Most indoor antennas are much smaller than the 30" 1/2 wavelength of channel 9. If you want to use an indoor antenna it may take much trial and error moving the antenna to different locations to get enough signal to work. If you have rabbit ears they will usually work better than the more expensive indoor antennas. The rods should be extended to 30" and be pulled out horizontally. The best place for an indoor antenna is near a window or door facing our transmitter site.

Need an antenna that gets mid-range VHF signals. I recently built my own antenna and get 21 channels. I get Baton Rouge, Lafayette, and CBS out of Alexandria. But I'll be damned if I can get KLFY. I'm going to tweak my antenna soon to try to catch KLFY for football season.

KLFY is at 193 MHz
Your antenna should catch KLFY. Are you using the amplifier that came with it?

KLFY should be easy to catch. You need to try moving the antenna and searching again with your TV. There will be no fuzzy picture. You will either catch the station or you won't. You have to use your TV to scan for channels every time you move the antenna. It's gonna take some time but I'm sure it will work.
It's funny how they market antennas now to be some type of new thing that is specifically to catch HD TV. It's the same as your grampaw's antenna except now there are HD channels you are catching.
