I’m interested to understand how people have set up their outdoor speakers.

I’ve got two patios around a pool. One patio has a tv and I want to add a tv to the other. At the moment I do not have any outdoor speakers. I watch the tv using an amazon fire. I would like to be able to send sound from the tv or my phone to Bluetooth speakers around the patio/pool.

What are my best options?

Bluetooth speakers

Well, that rules out Sonos.

Be careful with Bluetooth. I’ve tried on my tv and it had a slight but noticeable delay vs the picture

Setting up mine now. I am getting a dual zone receiver to be able to watch a game with sound and I buried conduit to run speaker wire to different areas of the yard where I can play music while a game is on or have them all play music as well.

I was thinking WiFi or Bluetooth speakers, but those still new electricity, so either plugged in or batteries and i didn’t want to mess with that. Burying the conduit was not too difficult, just takes a little planning

I have 2 Bose landscape speakers and 2 in the ceiling. From what I understand the longer the distance from the original source the lower the sound

If you use the proper gauge speaker wire you won't have the audio volume level drop off. That's if the runs are within the proper distances for the speaker cable used.

Speakers should also always be wired in parallel and not in series. Series is jumpering from speaker to speaker to speaker. Parallel is home runs for every stereo pair (or single stereo speaker).

I have a 50x50 or so back yard and already own 2 klipsch AW-650s. I'm building a back porch that's about 30' wide that will face the back yard and I am trying to decide if I should just keep the 650s or if I should install 2 ceiling speakers in the porch and move the 650s to the garage in the back corner of the yard and point them towards the yard/house.

Thoughts?

That’s what I would do. Although you will have to paint the grills of the ceiling speakers when they rust.

I had just connected a jJBL speaker to my tv via Bluetooth. Simple, but as I mentioned there was a slight lag vs the picture. Not sure if it was my setup or what.
