So I just bought the Wink and put it at my lake house so I could automate my thermostat, main water valve(insurance doesn't cover water damage on second homes) and put in a few smart plugs so I can turn lamps on and off at random times.
I went with the Sensi thermostat and the Econet water valve. I'm not unhappy with the wink so far but I struggle to really see its value other than providing a needed hub for the Econet water valve. ihome app can control the smart plugs and the Sensi app is pretty good for controlling the AC.
I also want to add a simple alarm that has a motion detector that will send me still shots of what triggered it, as well as a few door and window proximity sensors. Any recommendations? I'm piggybacking the wifi out of my Verizon data for only $10 a month so whatever I install has to use very little data.

Throw a schlage touchscreen lock on your front door as well. You'll fall in love with the ability to manage temp codes etc. Requires wink hub.

Well, I sure hope you break that NDA to let us know what product it is
It's a wink 2 hub, had a product page go up on amazon accidentally but it's pulled down now.

Do we have any clue on release date? I'm a few weeks away from needing a hub for my new house. Should i wait?

It's already popped up for sale at Amazon and home depot but they both yanked the listings with the quickness

its on one of the pages of this thread.
as for dimmers, i like the lutron the best (also most expensive) as they are literally trouble-free after you've set them up.
solid as a rock.
the GE/jasco sold at home depot and lowes is ok, its got a blue LED that is on when the switch is off but there's a trick to turning that off if you dont like it.
the leviton brings up the rear; they're ok, but its a single tap (once for on, once for off) instead of an up/down type switch.
having said that they're all pretty comparable, the lutron just looks the most professional (and acts that way)
GE smart bulbs on clearance at the targets around here..you may want to check inventory at your local stores.
i have a few quirky smart outlets which are fine but i wouldnt recommend them as they are bankrupt now

Do you need special bulbs for these things to work or will all bulbs work?
Also I have 4 different sets of recess lighting in the living room of the house I just bought all on different switches. Is it possible once I put in smart dimmers that I can tell the wink hub to copy whatever one switch does to all lights so all dim at the same time?

Dimmable light bulbs and yes you can make a group with any lights you want to control at same time

How do you configure smart switches in dual switch panels? Do they make dual switches? For instance if you have a panel with two switches one for lights and a second for a ceiling fan.

and a second for a ceiling fan.
Just buy the one switch for the light for now and you can always put a smart fan switch in later once they figure it out.

I have 3 ceiling fan switches. Work perfectly fine.

Eta one of my relay switches controls a ceiling fan but I cant change speed and had to waste 3 GE bulbs in the fixture so o could control them separately.
Supposedly home depot will be offering a smart ceiling fan on their site soon.

You adjust speeds by changing the percentage on the app. You can do it at the wall too. Works just like a light dimmer switch.
