As long as the chromecast is on, it should automatically change the input to the correct one. It has been doing this since day 1 that the original chromecast was released.
In addition, if you keep the Chromecast plugged into a powered USB slot (aka, not one on your TV that is only on when the TV is on), or plugged into the wall, it will turn on your TV first too
This actually didn't work for me.

Google home doesn't support lutron at least?? Dumb if so.

Yep. Designed by Google, built by HTC in house. Just like Foxconn does for the iPhone.

That's because hue, nest, etc are APIs not low power home automation radios.
Stupid.
Anyone can support shite that already has its own web-based API.

I don't think it's that dumb. For the opening day launch i think they did a good job supporting a lot of stuff. It's not like because it doesnt support lutron on day 1 that it's not coming down the pipe.

Yes. During the live stream, I specifically recall them saying they were looking forward to future product support for home. That's a good thing.
I didn't really see can lights on the philips page though.

what would be the most affordable bulbs to get for indoor cans that would work with google home?
I'm still researching that. GE Link, maybe?
Can anyone chime in?

Remember foxcon was on the news because they had to put nets up on their building because workers were commuting suicide because of their working conditions?

What kind of adapter is going to be needed to transfer data, images, etc. from iPhone to Pixel?
Posted on 10/4/16 at 10:27 pm to Will Cover
In the live stream today they showed an adapter that comes with the phone that is plug n play and auto transfers everything.

And Apple and Samsung were just copying Sony by making theirs waterproof...your point is?

Quick, and possibly dumb, question: When I had my BlackBerry it could do this cool thing where it would connect to my computer and I could text from my computer. It wouldn't save the messages or anything unless prompted. Does Google offer something like that?

Anyone else find it strange that Google essentially just rebranded everything they are doing and are acting like it is life-changing? I felt like I was watching an Apple event.
Nexus -> Pixel
Google Now -> Google Assistant
VR -> Daydream
Onhub -> Google Wifi
Google Cast -> Google Home (this one will be changing in the upcoming update to the app)
And now they are going to have some features of "stock Android" that are really "Pixel Android" only features? So, instead of trying to bridge the gap of fragmentation, they are purposefully going to make it worse? I'm so confused by the direction they are going.
As someone who has only ever had Android phones, and owned Nexus phones), I'm extremely disappointed in the direction Google is heading.
