The design really isn't as bad as initially thought, still not good, but when they first leaked I thought that black bar/camera housing stuck out much further than it actually does.

The side pics shows that it's almost flat with the back of the phone, it's just black.

I'd get the black one anyways, so that makes it far less ugly too. Would have liked a red one with that black bar too, would look better too.

If it gets great reviews, and I do mean great, I may actually grab the black one. But that means the screen has to be phenomenal, the camera excellent, the battery life good, etc versus current N6.

Oh and Nexus 5X:

If I was a current N5 owner, I'd 100% be upgrading to the 5X without a doubt, if wanting to stay at that screen size.

Yeah that bottom pic was what I referenced earlier, from an angle, you can see the bump is minimal and really not that bad at all.

I love how they call it the Snapdragon 810 v2.1, even though they denied the heat issues that plagued the first gen 810's, they needed for the the first time ever to list the version number of the SoC.

I might get it, we'll see, don't need it love my N6, but kinda want it. We'll see with pricing and reviews.

I looked up Huawei reviews and their top of the line camera has always scored right there with Samsung's camera, so top tier, hoping they deliver with a great camera here too + amazing battery life confirmed, probably grab one. Seems like a worthwhile upgrade if those things come true with all the other small improvements like the SoC, better size, fingerprint scanner, etc.

man, not sure whether to roll with the n5x or 6p.

6p is gonna be pricey, but those specs are so solid

Update from Android Police. Pretty excited for this thing now
LINK

quote:

The screen will use an AMOLED panel (the same display type as the Nexus 6 and most high-end Samsung designs), not the more typical

The phone uses 3GB of RAM.

The rear camera is 12.3 megapixels with an F-stop rating of 2.0. If that seems a bit low for a flagship, it's because the sensor design uses 1.55 µM pixels, which are designed to capture more light than a conventional sensor, much like HTC's former phone designs with "ultrapixel" cameras. The resolution of final images may be less than 12.3 megapixels.

The 8 megapixel front-facing camera uses 1.4 µM pixels (the standard design).

The Nexus 6P's official dimensions are 159.4 x 77.8 x 7.3mm. That's about the same width as the Nexus 6, slightly shorter, and almost 3mm thinner.

Okay, so should I get the NX5, the P6, the iPhone 6s, or the Windows 950?

6P.

AMOLED may have sold it for me, as long as the camera and battery are as good as advertised.

Haven't all cell phones had AMOLED for years now?

No, only Samsung uses AMOLED other than the Nexus 6 and now 6P.

Nothing released on that, but I would imagine it will be on the same carriers as the N6, given the same high expected cost.
