New house. Center built for 65"-70" TV.

Father-in-Law has offered to buy a new TV as a house-warming gift.

Do not want anything fancy...just something with a good picture that will last.

Must be a smart TV, as we are cord cutters.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I am thinking Vizio or Samsung.

I ain't spending shite. He is.

But my wife is asking me what type of TV to tell her father to buy.

IDGAF because I can buy my own fricking TV, but FIL is insisting.

I would not recommend anything more than $1k.

frick that. Recommend the most expensive TV on the market. That thing is going to be a daily part of his daughter and 5 grandsons lives for the next 5+ years, does he not want the best for them?

Here is a good place to start.

Thanks...but I ain't asking the man to spend $3k.

He can afford it, no doubt, but I don't watch much TV anymore.

My kids all have TVs, Xbox, and shite already.

If you’re not very picky, go to bestbuy.com and filter the TVs by the price range and size you want

Then go to rtings.com and see which one is the highest rated

There is a thread on the first page for 55” versions. Probably the 3 best and can get most at or b/w 1-2k at that size.

I’d get the 65” Sony 900f. Think it’s 1499 for Black Friday. I’ve decided to get the 55” version myself.

Just get the 65” TCL and call it a day. It’s the best TV going for $1k.

Before I was a simple man with a plan to buy my TV.

Now...I got my wife and my FIL all up in my shite about it.

Guess I'd rather just buy my own stuff.
