I will use this mainly for work. So that just means internet, MS office type stuff. Can a chromebook service me?

Maybe. The mobile version of Microsoft Office that runs of Chromebook lacks some features found in the desktop version.

Ok, sounds like I need to research the mobile app capabilities.

Chromebook here. Folks talk about the MS Office stuff not being full featured, but it has never limited me.

The biggest thing that made me leary was not being able to sync and/or backup my iPhone to iTunes, but I guess I got over it.

They don't mean that the web version of Office limits you based on your OS. Rather, they mean the web version itself is not as full-featured as the offline, installed version of Office.

she just has a cheap acer i dont remember the model. here are the things i love about it:

- full integration with android app store
- by the time you have the lid open, the laptop is fully awake and ready to go
- the battery never dies..its like an ungodly 10 hours or something. <-- this alone i love. my brand new surface with 2 batteries (one in keyboard and one behind the screen) still only gives me 3-4 useful hours of use.
- if you use web office or gdrive then 99% of what you do at your office can be done on it.
- full support for netflix, plex, etc etc.
