Does anyone actually spend 600-900$ on a phone and not put a case on it? Which is why I never cared about the dumb colors. Give me a giant pink arse phone for all I care.
I'm instantly strapping a thick case on it.

I'm still trying to decide what I'll get. Currently have a 6 that is still working OK. I think I want to get the plus for whatever I upgrade to. Trying to decide between the 7+ or 8+. I think I'm going to wait for the X to come out so I can play around with one to see if it's anything special then make the final decision

Only complaint I have is that this phone is heavy as shite.

Yeah I don't get it. My friends will get the new iPhone and just go naked. Phone is cracked or fricked within a month.

If I use a case it's minimal and really is only used to keep the back from getting scratched. Most of the time I don't use a case. I've cracked one screen since getting a smart phone in 2007 but that was a small crack so I didn't bother replacing the screen. Phones are huge these days and I don't want to make it bigger with a bulky case.

I agree with most of your points except for a thick case. I hate thick cases.

I hear ya.
I'm debating upgrading to the iPhone 8+. My wife has hers and it's big. Slightly bigger and heavier than my Samsung S7 Edge.
The iPhone 7 just feels small now. I kinda miss that big screen for watching stuff on it as well as letting the kids use it. But man, these things aren't cheap.
The iPhone 10 looks interesting but a couple things:
1) Apps like CapitalOne and almost all others now can use the thumb print to login. I love that feature as it allows me to check bank info quickly. I doubt the new iPhone X will allow the facial scan thing to work at launch.
2) That little black bar at the top. That looks like it's gonna get annoying when reading or watching video, etc.

Is the face recognition optional for the 10, or do they make you use your face to sign in to your phone? This would be a major downside IMO.

From what I understand it's either face recognition or a PIN like what's currently out there. It no longer has a physical round home button so thumb print reading is a goner in the X.

I got my 8+ Friday and got to test it out over the weekend. So far no complaints. Was coming from a 6+ so I was already used to the size. It’s slightly heavier than my old phone but I kind of like it...makes it feel more premium. Think the all glass design is to thank. Super quick too...makes my old 6+ feel ancient.
Been trying to protect the thing like crazy since my case and wireless charger won’t be coming in until Thursday.
ETA: also battery on this thing is a beast. Unplugged it at 10:00 am yesterday and as of 3:30 pm today it’s still at 20% battery.
