We got a new firestick 4k max about a month ago. We set it up with no problems. We literally only use Hulu, Netflix, Disney+, and Amazon prime video.

About a week ago, we started getting “critically low storage” errors that tell us to delete apps. I have deleted literally everything that can be deleted except for the four above mentioned apps. The only way to make this error go away is to unplug the firestick and do a hard reset.

What am I doing wrong?

Probably some cache you need to empty

One of your apps is not deleting old EPG"s , maybe Disney+. Go into app management and it will show you how much memory each app is using and then you can determine which is the problem. I have that problem with tivimate

This happened to my firestick a year or two ago. The only way to get I got it back to normal was to reset it which wiped it back to factory default. Haven't had an issue since then.

By chance, did u enable the photo screensaver? I did that before and not sure if it was coincidence that it caused an issue. I didn't enable after resetting it.

I have the 4K max and have the same issues OP is having. Clearing the cache isn’t fixing it.

It’s crazy b/c my 4k (non-max) firestick I have in the living room has the same exact apps and never had this issue.

Yesterday it failed completely. I unplugged it and it would not boot past the fire tv logo. The logo stayed up for over 30 minutes. I fooled around with it for another 10 minutes. I finally gave up and threw it away. I had an extra 4k max unopened from Xmas. Let’s see if it gives me problems too.

I have the 4K max on one of my TVs and I’m not impressed. It responds slower than my older 4K stick. It’s supposed to be wifi 6. I have a wifi 6 router and excellent 1gig fiber internet but the 4K max is slower than the 4K, both only 1 room from the router. Haven’t had your issues yet, but it wouldn’t surprise me.
