If the same issue I have periodically, simply unplug the TV for a few minutes. Resets the flux capacitor or something.

Samsung? Mine just did that. Press the power button on remote until it turns off then turns back on. Should take about 5 seconds. Worked for me after that.

flux capacitor
Capacitors are designed to retain a charge, of varying amounts. Vendors will tell you leave stuff unplugged for 5-10 minutes to allow that charge to dissipate, which then clears non persistent memory, and "reboots" your device. Depending on the board designer, the amount of time may be 5 seconds, or five minutes needed.
With tube TVs that required a lot of power, plenty of people electrocuted themselves by unplugging the TV, and then sticking screwdrivers in it, which discharged the capacitor(s) and shocked the *f* out of them. But you didn't ask about any of the background

A lot of TVs made more than a couple years ago that use the built in Netflix app won't work with the Netflix plan that allows ads. Netflix is aware of this and is unlikely to do anything about it. You might have a firmware update for your TV but don't count on it. We found this out when these plans were introduced recently. Not going to upgrade plans (mine is free) or TVs so I just access Netflix from my media server with the desktop app.
