Will be on an extended trip with no WiFi, so would like to download some shows for my son.

Currently have an iPad mini with limited storage.

Have looked at kindle and it looks like a decent option, will the extend storage store media (download from amazon/Netflix)?

Any help would be appreciated. Again, will be going long periods with no WiFi so downloading to the device is what I am looking for.

TIA

I just replaced my daughter's Nexus 7 with a samsung galaxy tab A. So far very pleased and it has 32 gb internal storage, with room to expand. paid $175 on amazon. You can download movies on Netflix and watch offline.

amazon fire hd8 with an SD card. I had plenty to watch on my trip across the pond. But remember netflix and others only allow so much content to be downloaded at a time.

How is the user interface? I have an old Amazon fire tablet that my wife bought me that sits in a drawer because its annoying as shite to use. Are the new ones better?

For sure. He is little so he can watch stuff over and over I just would rather not restart his shows every 15 minutes.

Just get a wireless media drive. Uses an SD card (and has internal memory) and streams from the media drive to the device (multiple devices as well). They’re cheap and will work well with existing iPad Mini. Typically lasts about 8 hours per charge, but can be charged in vehicle as well.

I bought a chromebook for my recent overseas trip. Worked out great. Downloaded a bunch of Netflix content to watch offline. Downloaded a few magazines that I already had a subscription to. Downloaded a book to read. That along with a few games gave me more than enough content.

Don’t forget battery backups if that could be an issue
