Amazon just dropped the price of the newest neato robot vac to $425 with free shipping LINK.

I had an XV-21 and liked it until it died, ordered the new botvac D80 today, and purchased the 3-year warranty again. That warranty got me a full refund on the XV-21 when it died after a little less than 2 years.

I'll report back on how the D80 compares to the XV-21 since I know a lot of folks on TD have that version.

mine sucks.

i have an open floor plan and the little piece of black 'no no dont go there' rubber is too short to stop it from going ANYWHERE

i tried cutting it into pieces and making a 'dotted line' and the neato just fricking sits there all day diligently searching for a weakness in one of the open 'dashes' of my dotted rubber NO NO wall. frickING GIVE UP AND GO CLEAN SOMEWHERE ELSE

it gets hung up on EVERY SHAG RUG in my house and since we have a MCM house, this means it sits and cries from like 4 different rooms when i try to run it and i have to go try & find the damn thing and take it home.

other than that, its great

i wanted one so bad and just didnt realize our house plan made this pretty much worthless.

i guess i could put it in the bedroom but frick..all the dog and kid traffic is in the main part of the house so that's kind of pointless.

EVERY SHAG RUG

When we shop for rugs, we are picking the rug based on the capabilities of our robot (Botvac). Win for me for not having to get a shag rug. That's how important that robot is.

My downstairs is all tile and wood, so the robot works great.

Why on earth would I spend time sweeping when a robot that cost half a day's pay will do it for me?

Sorry.. Wrong board.. Mid century modern. Everything you shop for in that style uses the acronym so I've gotten used to abbreviating it.

Should've gotten it from Amazon, and then you could've easily returned it
