My search turned up dated info on an all in one color laser printer…

This will be for home use with a low duty cycle.
There are just a bunch to choose from I would like to keep the toner cost below the karman line.
Any suggestions?

I went with a brother color laser printer (no scanner) and couldn’t be happier. Reminds me of the old HP workhorses.

We have a cannon, but if I was buying a printer today I would probably get an Epson Ecotank.
Previously we had a brother black and white and it was good too.
Make sure whatever you get has the roller replaced with the toner cartridge, the cheaper printers don't and it can be a pain.

Tripling down on Brother MFC laser. I had a B&W MFC from Brother, and a 3770CDW (which the ex wife kept), and never had to to replace anything other than black toner, with two kids in elementary school. I've owned Brother Lasers (usually MFCs) for over a decade, and I spend less on toner in a year than I do on dance costumes in a month.
Currently using a B&W DCPL2550DW. I will only buy Brother lasers, and have only bought color/B&W lasers from Brother for more than 10 years.

And, don't be afraid to buy a Brother refurb. Most of them from Brother have fewer than 500 pages on them. That's what I've bought for the last 7+ years.

Yeah, I know nothing about color laser printers, but for B&W I've settled in on Brother. Seems to be the consensus best value and easiest to work with, of the brands.
I've got a Lexmark and a HP, both inkjet for color. I rarely use them, and the cost of ink cartridges are such that it probably would be worth getting a new printer instead.
But I have a Brother, non-wireless, laser printer. Got it for $40 a couple Black Fridays ago. I've made it wifi by slapping linux on an old Asus EEE (mini laptop), and using it solely as the wireless server. I get generic toner cartridges off Amazon for really cheap, and set it up with a static IP address so it will always be found, whenever I have to reboot my network. A couple minutes fiddling on setup, and it's been great. My son has printed out textbooks (multiple), and a ton of other stuff.
