We have Directv satellite . I know Directv has the Gemini remote which with some equipment enables one to go between satellite TV and internet . Would it be easier to just go totally internet TV ? I have two smartvs . I have heard that there were some issues with the gemini remote .

I switched from DTV satellite to DTV streaming 4 months ago. I was a satellite customer for 30 years. I have not had any Gemini issues so far.
DTV streaming is all Internet. It just has the stations numbered the same so it is very similar to the satellite service. When you turn it on, it goes to the Direct TV stream by default. There’s an APPS button on the remote that lets you access any apps you want to download.
You don’t need a Gemini to use the steam service. Direct TV has an app you can use on a Roku, Apple TV, smart tv, etc

Does anyone want to go half in with me on DTV streaming?
They actually allow you to share households unlike the others which could really help the more expensive cost be a lot less.
Only thing is one household gets unlimited streams while the other is limited to 2 TVs and one streaming device at a time.
I actually saw a guy on reddit that shares with 2 other houses and they split like 33 each.

Get the direct tv streaming devices, yes. Stop using the dish.

I love direct tv streaming. I like being able to watch my tv on my phone and iPad, and I have 3 kids in 3 different colleges and they all use it as their cable.
I don’t like when I’m out of State they block the Braves games, but my guess is that is a MLB thing and not a direct tv thing.

Skip the Gemini remote. Why do you need it? Just so you can have a dedicated remote? Just get the Direct TV Stream app on your Roku or whatever and go from there. You'll get used to using the TV/Roku remote to work the app. No point in paying more for Gemini.
