Meet the LG G4

Massive leak happened over the weekend. I think LG was tired of hearing about the S6 Edge (me too) LINK

quote:

...we are pretty sure that we can expect two versions of the LG G4 – one with a traditional plastic cover, and another that is fitted with leather. The plastic cover version will come in at least three colors, which appear to be white, grey, and gold. The leather version will then come in black, brown, red, light blue, gold, and yellow.

The back of the phone is removable, as is the battery. There is a micro SD slot, and a “durable, sleek” body that “was designed with an idea user experience in mind.” The phone, according to this microsite, is 8.9mm thick.

The 16MP camera, as you all know, includes an F1.8 aperture lens that LG claims captures more natural images, thanks to its “Color Spectrum Sensor.” It also has a fancy light trail effect mode, and the previously announced manual mode.

Hope it's more durable than a G2 and although I liked it...That is one fragile arse phone. I replaced the screen so many times, I can do it blindfolded now!

Thankfully I still have my seemingly indestructible Note 2.

I have an LG G2 right now and love it. Everything about that phone is still great except for the camera but it's not a dealbreaker. Have yet to break a screen but I do have a Tech21 case on it.

re: Meet the LG G4
I had the G3 for a while. It was a little too wide for me, but other than that there was nothing I should really complain about.

However, I guess I am just one of those people that like some of the added features Samsung and HTC add to Android. The G3 was just so close to stock Android, it was kind of boring to me. Boring in a good way. I never had the first problem, battery was awesome, added storage with microSD.

The G4 should be even better

I was going to start a new post, but figured it would be better to just do it here.

Anyone watch the launch? Every G4 owner will get 100 GB google drive for 2 years. that and the camera have me very excited. Hope they come out soon, and hope that Otterbox has a case in the making

I didn't watch the launch but look at the articles on Engadget. I'm pretty excited about it.

Looking forward to how the cameras perform

I'll probably buy it. Leather is pretty stupid, tho.

Do we know when it will go on sale, and the going price for this bad boy?

My galaxy s4 is at the end of its life, & I am really laboring over whether I should get this phone or the Galaxy S6.
I just doubt I'd want a phone that big (G4 size).

it looks like June to buying it. 200 on contract, or 600 outright.

the S6 disappoints me on so many levels. It's an iPhone with the samsung name.

Yeah, as soon as I saw it had a sealed battery and no micro SD my first thought was "Well Geez, if I wanted an iPhone I'd have gotten one."
Still, I want to be able to operate my phone with one hand and I'm not sure that will happen with that huge 5.5" screen. A little ludicrous imo. I've never looked at a 5" screen and said "it's just too small!"

I love the build quality on the S6....to say it is an iphone with the Samsung name is a pretty damn big compliment from a build quality stand point......way off base in the software department though.

if I was updating from my M8, I'd go with the G4 or the M9

My next phone won't have the speaker on the back. I'm tired of blasting audio toward everyone except me.

I've had my eye on the HTC M9 with the two front-facing speakers. Of course the speaker location isn't the only feature i'll be considering. HTC is releasing an M9+ in Asia in a month or two, but there's no talk yet about a US release. It's going to be slightly larger and have a home button like the Galaxy.

You can turn on 1 handed operations. and put it to either left or right side. I like the screen size for showing off my pictures (from my dSLR; if I don't have a laptop available)
