So you're telling us you HAD to buy a Google phone to get free Google apps? How bout a Samsung or a Motorola?

How bout an iPhone you can get "free" google apps on?
Both questions are dumb. Those are Android phones. You get apps at the android store. Why would you get android apps on an iPhone? I'm explaining this to you now, because I didn't realize before just how low your IQ is.

Look you clueless Idiot. They are free on both Android phones and iPhones.

So answer the damn question: How does Goggle make money if they give their products away for free?

Your two drivling idiots can't even follow a basic premise. I have to pay Apple by buying an iPhone to get its so called "free apps".

I don;t have to buy shite from Goggle, even on an iPhone, to get its free apps cause it makes all its profit by selling your data mined info to the highest bidder.

And if you're ok with selling you data mined soul to the highest bidder that's your issue, not mine.

Up yours asshat. 99.9 % of so called free Google apps users have no clue that even SOME of their shite can be turned off.

You're too stupid to even get the basic concept of Google's business model.

Wouldn't know. I always go into each app anyway.

Blackberry had a great Android app, DTEK. It would show which apps were pinging away. Oddly enough it was Walmart and the tv station that were the worst offenders. Allowed you to turn all that crap off. Google is starting to catch up to BB in that regard.

Do you think it's willful ignorance or intellectual dishonesty? And, which one is worse?

are y'all really arguing which privacy-invading-a-hole-corporation is more evil than the other in this thread?

they all do it. That's the point. He's gargling the apple brand so much that he's blinded by it. We admit it, he says it's only Google.

Yes I am. Are you really gonna join dumb and dumber in arguing Google and Apple are just the same when it comes to data mining?

Why do you care so much about this?

Primarily because most people have no idea the privacy they are giving up by being on Android. Like it never occurs to them it's a Google made love machine.
That's not really responsive. Can you give me more?

So Google is even data mining your videos.
Again, why are you so concerned about this?

You're Ok with a mega corporation logging all your personal conversations?
I don't know if I am ok with it, as I don't know what you mean and have never had a negative result. is this your stated concern?

Maybe you don't give a rat's arse that Google knows your wife bought anal lube at the CVS before she met your best friend at the no tell motel, but I freak out that kinda knowledge is in permanent storage and being used to sell all three of you shite, and who knows what down the road...

I know you've already made the switch, so good for you, but I think it comes down to expectations.

Some people expect that a new phone is going to be some major improvement. It's not. I mean, unless you really obsess over pixel density and refresh rates > 60 Hz, then yeah, I guess you might see a difference.

Any "top of the line" smartphone from the last 5-6 years is going to do a great job for the majority of users. Going from an iphone 14 to a S26 isn't that big a deal IMO.

Now that being said, I tend to make purchase decisions based on what causes the least friction in my day. If everyone in my family/work is using an iphone, then that's what I'm going to use. If, tomorrow, everyone switched to Samsung, then I guess that's what I'd use. Just to be on the path of least resistance.

I've used Linux since the mid-90s. I know what it's like to be on the outside, looking in, and it's not all it's cracked up to be. There are always tradeoffs when going against conformity. And in some cases it's worth it. It just depends on what you get out of it. If you like to hack in the OS and spin up servers or learn what makes things tick, then it's fine. At least you're an informed participant and not just bucking the trend to be some kind of hipster.

But you know what, it's your money and you can do whatever you want.
