None. Wait a few months and they're going to release new one's with processors that aren't 3.5 years old.

buy the pro. if the older processor is a problem for you, sell it on ebay when the new ones come out and then get the new one. you'll probably still get some of the coupon value on the new one at least.

I'd buy the 13 inch MacBook air. Upgrade to 8gb of Ram and 256 GB SSD drive. But, that's just my opinion. IMO, the MacBook pro is an absolute not buy until they upgrade the processor.

I've used Windows for 22 years. They just aren't reliable any more to me

I hate the visuals on the air though. The screen looks so outdated

Get the Pro. The MacBook is probably underpowered for your needs. The retina MacBook Pro processor isn't 3.5 years old like the other poster said. They are outdated (18 months old) and should be receiving an update in the next 6-8 weeks.

For what you are doing a regular MacBook should be fine.

I travel for work too, use a gaggle of unique programs and hook up to a multiple monitor set-up at my desk. I use a MacBook Air... from 2011. After a battery replacement earlier this year it runs like it did when new.

Any of the 3 will be plenty for your needs. The little MacBook would be my choice. That said I'm waiting for the new computers to arrive in October, whatever they may be called.

If you get the 12 inch MacBook, make sure you can live with that keyboard.

I use a laptop to surf the web, check email, shite post on Tiger Droppings, and store a few downloads (pdfs, mp3s).

Currently I am using a Toshiba Chromebook 2. There is really nothing that I want to do that I can't currently accomplish with this machine.

What is the best MacBook to get for the needs listed above?

(My only reason for getting a MacBook is for appearances. MacBooks just look more professional and young college aged chicks love them)

ETA: This is a serious post.

ETA2: The only real complaint with the Chromebook is that it does not recognize .tif downloads from my company, which is a hassle. Do MacBooks recognize .tif?
