How many networks are broadcasting in 4k?

i prefer samsung. i have purchased 3 samsung large tv's and they have all been magnificent. having said that, the vizio is better on paper. they both appear to be 120 refresh rate so that's a wash.
something to check out, find out from samsung if that SPECIFIC tv has multi link screen. if it does, that might be something that would sway you to the samsung despite it not being 4k. i like to split screen during fb season but, you might not care about that.
yes, there is almost no 4k content available but, that tv is more forward thinking and the price between the 2 is almost the same. so, for a mere $50 extra, you get a significantly higher resolution which will make a difference as 4k content is available, which is happening steadily.
btw, the human eye pretty much can't distinguish between 1080 and 4k. as far as resolution goes, 4k is mostly a waste. however, i think in terms of resale value. a 4k tv is going to have a much higher resale value. we just sold a 1080p tv and it wasn't easy. we just got lucky and found a couple of college students who had the money to burn.
i would personally shell out the extra money for an equivalent samsung but, that's because i'm probably too loyal to the brand.

I have a old Samsung LCD 52 inch and it is a beast. 7 years old and picture is still great. So I sold on Samsung and I am leaning that way. But the price of this vizio is tempting.
I know there isn't much 4k content out there but I keep reading about upscaling on different sites. How much will the picture be improved is debatable. What do you know about upscaling?

My ONLY issue with Samsung (and, I realize this is anecdotal) is that I have had 2. BOTH had the capacitors go bad (would continually cycle on and off...maddening).
It is not a very difficult thing to fix. But, it is annoying as hell to have to do it.
When my first one fritz'd out, I went online and found it is a known issue with Samsung in particular....cheap capacitors?
Anyway, it has left me with a little bit of a poor taste for the brand.

Any thoughts on the Vizio brand? They have good reviews and seems to have a good reputation.

I went from pioneer plasma to vizio led. It was the worst thing I have ever done. Jitter on the screen during sports makes it unwatchable coming from a plasma.
I can relate to this. It also took me two months to get the colors calibrated to an acceptable level, and modern TVs have garbage sound quality

The more I look at it most everything points me toward the Samsung.

I contacted Samsung, and they sent out a tech to fix free of charge. The customer service sold me on that

Yes it can, idk why some people say this. It all depends on how far you're sitting away from the tv and the size of the tv

Looks like a darn good deal on nice Sony 60" 1080p which is all we need.
