Lighting solution (wireless)

I just bought a 90 year old house and the living room has no lighting fixture. Running the wire to put a lighting fixture will be expensive, and we have some lamps that work well.
What I'd like is a solution to turn on the 3 lamps from a wall switch. I've seen options where you put a plug in the outlet that is controlled by a wireless switch or you can have a hub that controls smart light bulbs.
Any suggestions? Concerns are cost of smart bulbs, reliability, etc.

I’d probably do smart bulbs and control with Alexa. I’m sure there are ways to do a physical switch, but that’s a lot of trouble.
Personally, I’d revisit running hardwire. Resale value plus it be easy to operate for the non-tech folks.

You could get phillips hue bulbs which could be controlled by alexa/google assistant. they also have a solution that has a remote dimmer switch that can control the bulbs.

I think I saw a 3 pack of dimmable wifi bulbs at Costco for like $25 yesterday.
Problem solved and they'll work with voice assistants and you could set up a routine in Alexa to turn them on at certain times each day at different diming levels.
You'll want to group them in Alexa too so you can just say "turn den off" and you're done.

How bright are the smart bulbs? We had some 60W equivalent bulbs in our LR, and they weren't bright enough. We replaced them with 100W equivalent bulbs and it was quite a difference.

I haven't personally used these, but Lightning switches seem like a great option.
I was talking with an electrician about these about a month ago. I haven't used them. He said they're pricey ($100/outlet), but they truly are no-battery, no-wire options that last (he had put some in 15 years ago that still work) and are extremely reliable.
I'm not certain if you can run multiple outlets off of a single switch, but they are worth looking into.
Lutron Caséta was mentioned before. This is a great option. The pico remote will have a battery, though. They claim a battery life of 10+ years which is impressive. I use this line of controls, but if you're opposed to batteries and don't need smart integration, the alternative above may be a bit better, though likely more expensive.

The solution that you’re asking for is the Lutron Caseta lamp module x 3 with a pico remote that you mount on a wall.

Lots of over engineered solutions in this thread.
Costco will take anything back at anytime so try the 4 bulbs for $25 or the colored 4 pack for $35 and see if that takes care of it before you go crazy with installing switches and configuring hubs.
At worst you're out the gas to drive to Costco to return them and at best you've solved your problem for under $50 and 10 minutes of setup time.

The best part is not only are these dimmable and full color, but the white levels are tunable meaning you can change the whiteness level to suit the room.
You can't do any of that with a smart switch.
