I've tried all 3:

1- ps vue
2- sling
3- dtvn

T-Mobile gives you 30% off a month for Sling,

Wait, what? How?

Also, to the OPs question - devices matter. For my family, we use an Xbox One S as our main living room media hub so SlingTV is our best bet. Sling BY FAR is compatible with every device. The others are fragmented.

Hey Tablo users just bought a refurb off the website. Is live TV usable?

Just reading that some people end up using it just as a DVR because live TV is not great.

Sony Vue seems to be a better deal as long as I don't want HBO. Problem is I do want HBO LOL.

HBO Now is your answer

I just got a tablo and get 9 channels in HD...I get a total of 20...some are repeats.

How can it be used as just a dvr tho? Are you referring to just recording live tv and not watching it live? Or it's used as a dvr for other programming somehow.

I suspect their wifi is not great so they have too much latency in the live feed and they use a separate antenna for live OTA.

I think there's an Ultra package you can get HBO and showtime and it be a little cheaper but I would rather just pay $15 extra for HBO because I don't need all of the other channels. I have the PS Vue Core with HBO Now, Netflix, and Amazon prime video. I'm looking into Kodi now as well. So many options that make cable pretty much obsolete. I prefer Vue because of the DVR but I would have any of the other ones to say FU to big cable.

getting the $35 + $15 HBO = $50 Have to look to see if its worth $65 for the package that has HBO.

Dtvnow bill went out on the 10th. Switching back to Vue next month. Dtvnow sucks on FireTV. Plays better when I Chromecast from my phone than launching it from a wired FireTV. Been having buffering issues since launch on the FireTV. Done with it. I'll use Vue again til Google rolls out here.

I'm almost on the same path as you... I'm giving them a little longer to fix the fire issue, but if not fixed soon, I'm gonna try Vue.

FYI, if you go to customer support chat and tell them about your issues, you'll get the month for free.

I wish they'd hurry up with the Roku app. I want to keep my Fire TV downstairs for Kodi and move the Apple TV down for DTVNow.

Kick myself for letting the DTVN deal expire thinking Cox would not screw me. The high end channels package though on any of these services, won't watch half the channels.

As mentioned thiough, DTVN on a firetv is dreadful. Put the Vue app on it and worked much better.
