Laptop Rec under $1000

Looking for a laptop for my wife under $1000 , she will be using it for internet, office word/excel docs and online access to a work program.
No gaming, no heavy picture/video saving / editing.
She has an old Mac that been giving her major problems. Doesn't want to do mac again.

i would go to slickdeals and find the cheapest one that fits the size she wants. Web browsing, and word processing doesnt take much power.

i saw a surface laptop 3 on sale on FB marketplace for $800 and it's so hard to not gobble it up but i don't need it
