It's that time again. One Plus 6?

It's getting that time again. My S8 is cracked in several places and I'm feeling the urge to get a new phone. Is there a better value out there than the One Plus 6 that's about to be launched. Phones I'm interested in.
Xiaomi- not sure this is available in the U.S. or would even work here.
One Plus 6
Essential- have heard that this phone has signal issues but I like the idea.
Am I missing a great value somewhere?
Honorable mention- Elephone.
I'm not interested in a S9.

One plus 6 or wait for essential 2 or razer phone 2.
I have the Xiaomi Mix 2.
Pros:
The build quality is awesome. I love the ceramic back. It will not scratch. And has good weight to it that I like.
Fast. No slowdown. All screen.
Cons:
No good cases. I did get a nice aluminum bumper that I loved, but it killed the signal. I use the case that came with it that is actually pretty nice.
Every glass screen protector I've found is pure shite. Chips and scratches easy.
The main con is the software. It's still running 7.1 but is supposed to get Oreo soon. Notification handling is the worst part. I don't use the front camera much, but if you do that could be a problem because it's at the bottom.
The light sensor is also at the bottom so when you put your phone down on your chest or laying in the bed, the auto brightness will dim. That's annoying.
I came from a Nexus 6P & Pixel 1 XL.

Just got the Pixel 2 XL, curious why that isn't on your list? If you are Verizon then Best Buy has a nice deal on them right now (it's a monthly bill credit, so if you trade it out early you won't see the biggest savings though)

I can't speak for Ben Coleman, but I buy my phones outright. I'm not paying $1k just to add water resistance and wireless charging that I don't need. And I want to support smaller companies because competition is good.

They have been releasing top spec phones during dead periods when new specs were just about to drop. So, they have to play catchup quickly.

I bought a OnePlus 3 because every Samsung I owned was complete shite. My OnePlus 3 is outdated, sure, but it still runs like a damn champ. I hardly ever have any issues with it.
The last time I bought a Samsung, it was trash within 3 months. I don't know why people buy them tbh.

He mentioned xiaomi, one plus, essential, and elephone. So what concerns are you talking about?
If you don't like public declarations, you are in the wrong place.
ETA: you got ripped on that pos pixel 2.

Yea, its got very good reviews and if I hang onto it for 2 years I'll only pay $450 for it - but I'm sure youre right I got "ripped" on it. Next time I'll be sure to consult with you about my phone needs.

My phone before the S8 was a 6P which I still have and still love but the experience soured me on Google phones. My wife is adamant about getting a note. So we'll either get her the 8 this week sometime or wait for the 9 to launch.

No one who owns a pixel 2 or 2xl got ripped off. They are incredible devices.

Truth
Best phone I've ever owned and it's not close. And I've had some nice damn phones.
