Issue with AT&T Internet dropping while on Teams video calls

Does anyone else have this issue? Every single time I'm working from home and hop on a Microsoft Teams call the internet comes in and out. It goes from full wifi to unavailable to wifi. I can use Zoom with no problem.
We have Internet 1000 (Fiber 1 GIG) which is the best for my area, so this is infuriating.
I've called them and they reset the router configurations (or something like that) over the phone, but it never fixed anything.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have that issue as well sometimes.
Solution: Turn off the camera, or join from your phone with wifi turned off.

In NOLA area? I've been having issues with them lately after no problems in forever (minus Ida).
Also, I have to use VPN and I've noticed that my VPN and ATT do not play nicely together.

I wish I could do that. That really doesn't solve the issue. I should be able to use Teams fully since I'm paying for the best internet they offer.
And to the other poster, I'm in Dallas.
I just sat on the phone with Yogesh at AT&T and he couldn't find an issue so they are shipping me a new router. Hope that helps.

I use teams conference multiple times a day every day as I work from home. They are usually video calls with 15-20 people on the call. I have never had such an issue using a BGW320 gateway.
I am on at&t 300/300 plan and it is way more than I need. I would recommend considering 2 things:
1) Put the at&t gateway into IP Passthrough mode and use your own wireless setup (or just turnoff gateway WiFi and use your own WiFi APs)
2) consider saving some money on internet speeds and downgrade the package. It doesnt fix the wifi problem but you'll save money and get the same results.

Same. Zero issues whatsoever. I use the ATT provided 5268AC gateway/router and also connect through a VPN. 1G service.

Ours will do the same thing, But the TV and everything is running fine on WiFi, but teams will freeze and cut out. I just use the message side to let them know I will be back in a sec AT&T N. Of you a bit

There's absolutely no reason why this should be happening, especially only with a certain program.
Does the issue continue if you use an ethernet connection? Have you tested it from a different location? (library, McDonalds, a friend's house, etc)

I used to have the same issue with Teams horribly and then it just magically stopped. Everything else would run fine so I would just use my phone on data with no problems.
It's not your wifi it's a Teams thing but I'm not aware of any solution

I have not tried it with an ethernet cord. I guess I could do that, but it really doesn't solve the problem that this shouldn't be happening.
I have used teams in many other places without any issue at all

That's an important point. If you've been able to use Teams normally from other wifi locations while this problem at home has been going on, that narrows it down to very likely being your router (slight chance it may be some funky issue with your ISP).

If it works using ethernet then we know the issue is limited to your router's wifi.
If the problem continues even if wired, try turning off the firewall and testing it. If the problem still continues then it's absolutely something the ISP needs to address (and all of this information will help speed that call up instead of the tech wanting you to reboot your laptop, router, etc).

I had this issue a while back. I was using a company supplied Microsoft surface. Apparently on the model I had, the video card was near the wifi card, causing it to overheat. Was told it was a common problem, got a newer surface and no issues.
