Is there any major reason not to switch to Android?

What is the main reason Apple owners don't use an Android device?

Where do Android devices fall short?

My mom / sibling won't download an app to video chat and just use FaceTime. Also the iPhoto share

I think that's the only reason I have an iPhone

This is my reason. When I was in college I got my first smartphone and it was a Samsung Galaxy I think but it was an android device. After not even 6 months the phone became so laggy and slow, it was unbearable. I got it replaced for free and after 6 months of the new one it did the same thing. My next phone was an I phone and it lasted two years without a hiccup. I haven't looked back since because of that past bad experience.

Now while I am an apple user, I will say Apple technology is behind and they barely change the phone year after year but the sheep eat it up.

Please do tell. I cannot wait to hear why. I bet I can write your response for you.

Because they're too uneducated and not tech savy enough to handle the power of google android.

Stay away from Samsung and you will be fine. Nexus/Pixel is the best android has to offer. One Plus would be next along with Motorola. HTC and LG are down the line.

My suggestion if you want a cross platform device comparable to Apple/iphone is to go with Nexus or the yet to be released Pixel line which is replacing the Nexus. It is the device "made" by google and will have the purest of android and get seamless updates that other manufacturers will not.

This is what I always find most annoying, it's always someone that had one 5 years ago and thinks its even remotely relatable to present day.

I bet if I go whip out an iPhone 4 or 4S it's quite slow and laggy.

Or do people just like to forget how poor iOS was early on?

And now it seems like every time a new iOS version comes out it's filled with bugs and issues for a month, happening now with iOS10 and has happened with seemingly every new version since iOS7 or so.

It's kind of like a bad experience at a restaurant you try out. If you have a bad experience the first time, it's really hard to go back

Wanted to ad I have an iPhone 5 and have had it for three years and it's working fine. I am upgrading tri the 6s tomorrow because my battery is starting to suck bad

That seems like a really poor way of thinking in the tech world.

Tech changes way too much way too fast to compare it to something like a restaurant.

iOS was really bad early on as well, and while I have no desire to ever go back to that OS, it isn't because I hated it early on.

I have not EVER had an issue with android OS. I have had HTC, LG, and Nexus and not had a blip of an issue. My devices and OS have been smooth, lag /bug free. I always root and run a clean, custom ROM, but with a Nexus you can pretty much go right out of the box and have a great stock experience. Plus, google android is light years ahead of apple iOS. The cloud services are not even comparable.

I don't want to have to root to make it run clean or whatever. I just want to use a phone to talk and text and surf the web sometimes. An iPhone is really dependable for that.

Or people who had or know people with low end android devices. There is a big difference among various android devices.

I've had an iPhone since the first one and I haven't particularly found a good reason to switch since the iPhone does everything I want. Sure Android has its advantages but nothing to make it worthwhile for me to make the effort to switch platforms.

Android devices also still have quite a bit of issues with security updates being provided in a timely manner (if at all) on certain phone models and such.

That isn't comparable either though? Why are you buying a similarly priced high end iPhone but buying a cheap low end Android?

That seems quite foolish.

if you're on Macs an iPhone is a no brainer.

What is the reason against Samsung?

I'm finally going to the Android side and thinking of getting a Galaxy or Note.

Is it because of all of the bloatware?

If I download Google Now Launcher won't this give me a pretty good interface?

So tired of hearing this. Some people just prefer iOS man. It's okay.

I use no apps from Apple. All the apps I use on my phone are from Google.

Last I heard Samsung had reduced the amount of bloatware considerably, and the TouchWiz UI was toned down quite a bit but yes using a launcher such as Pixel Launcher or Google Now would remove most of TouchWiz.

I may still get a Note 7 when they relaunch, not sure.

A few reasons.

Quality of materials for phone buld

Stability of performance. My older androids seemed to lag on stuff like web browsing and app crashing

FaceTime

Camera has always been solid with iPhone

Security

Lack of bloatware

When switching to newer iPhones it is seemless.
