Never ceases to amaze me when morons compare apples to oranges. I doubt anyone cutting the cord just had basic cable. Also proves you are clueless about the quality of Vue.

VUE is at minimum basic PLUS which is double the cost of basic. Maybe with your limited math skills you aren't able to discern that people are saving money and getting the channels they want vs the channels the cable company forces you to pay for.

My cable bill was $80. My Vue bill was $35.

When I had cable, I also had netflix, Hulu and Amazon Prime. Most people also have a combination of Cable plus other streaming sites. Once they realize they use the streaming sites more than cable, that is when they realize cutting the cord is a viable option.

ESPN is the only item holding most folks back. They now have a cheaper option. They don't need to pay for 200 channels they never watch. Instead they can pay for a select few at half the cost.

Another bonus, easy to cancel and easy to sign back up. No fighting the cable rep and no box drop off.

I don't need any cable except from September to January. Nice savings there for something I pretty much never turned on until football season. Local news, I pick up with my leaf.

I pay $30 a month on a month by month subscription for everything I want to watch with DVR and free OTA channels.

That's not what I was paying before

Sling is garbage and doesn't load 50% of the time on my PC and xbox.

I still keep it though for watchesspn and AMC and a few other channels

Excited about red zone channel being on sling this year.

It really is shite but for 25 bucks it has its moments of usefulness

Anybody know if Vue and Cox got their shite figured out yet? My apt. complex in Lafayette sadly has a deal with Cox and that's all I can get in there. Haven't been able to get Vue yet.

Depends on where you live. Sling is $25 for me and Vue is $45. For $50 I could go back to cable.....with a house phone too
Plus DVR fees for every room. Forgot that, didn't you?

Tried to sign up but it says it's not available in Lafayette. WTF?

Can you use a VPN to make you appear to be from a different area? I'm curious about that.

Thanks for your timely response. So you like the Fire TV interface and remote? It's responsive (little lag) and the menu system is good and easy to use?

Honestly I liked sling for in app speed better, but the selection, dvr, etc. trade off is better for me. Fire TV is the only way I think outside of a PS4 unit.

Sling doesn't work worth a crap on PC. Solid on Fire TV but I've gone to Vue.

So other than the PS4, what is the best and most family friendly interface for Playstation Vue? Roku?

I like Roku's interface for Netflix, but, hopefully, for Vue it will improve. It lacks a guide and it's difficult to tell how much you are fast forwarding on the roku. I hope that this is only because it's very new on the roku.

On the fire tv or stick, on the other hand, it has a guide, and tells you how many seconds or minutes you're skipping ahead when you press the fast forward button.

On the other hand, I like Roku's remote much more than the fire tv remote. Just a personal preference.

I wouldn't recommend it. Fire tv is smooth and fluid. For $60 more, it's worth it considering the savings.

I've used both and I absolutely agree with this.

Yup!

PS Vue is simply amazing. I've been using it for the past 2 months and absolutely love it. Never going to use cable TV again.

I've already made the Sling > Vue switch and will stick with Vue, but you seem really mad. Sling isn't nearly as bad as you are making it out to be, at least it wasn't during the last year we had it. Plus, Sling has a waaaaay better GUI. Vue is the better option, I agree, but it has a way to go still.

No it doesn't. And clicking on the sling gui half the time resulted in nothing happening or lock ups.

I loved Sling last year as the only kid on the block that was available. It is absolute garbage compared to Vue.

I'm not mad, just totally disagree with every statement made and I explained why. Can't blame internet speeds when I used pretty much every other streaming service with zero problems and HD yet Sling was never close to HD and it hung up often, pretty much anytime there was a commercial.

Dude. I'm sorry but I disagree with the majority of your OPINIONS.

IMO (just in case: In My Opinion)
- Sling has a better GUI. More user friendly
- Sling doesn't freeze or hang as often as you allude to
- Sling is absolutely in HD

I'm sorry your experience was bad and I myself have switched from Sling to Vue, but I think you are embellishing some of these complaints. Sorry. And I don't care about your internet, cool bro, I too have badass internet

Vue 100x better than Sling. I would have gone back to cable instead of Sling and Vue makes me forget about cable altogether.

Keep arguing. You are just about the only person on TD to have a positive experience with Sling. If it is so great why exactly are you keeping Vue?

Most people on here have complained about freezing and poor picture.

Ha, I'm not arguing with you in any way and honestly at this point, it's more about proving what a douchebag you are for not allowing people to have differing opinions than yours despite your oozing butthurt.

You're a fanboy, I get it, but people can chose other options than Vue for cable cutting and be happy with the service they chose.
