Nah it’s still the same price but they are throwing stuff in.

Commonly known as a bonus...

If I told you that, as a teacher, I could identify kids that had access to devices from an early age with about a 95% success rate, would you still allow your child to have one?
I used to say that there were two types of students: SpongeBob kids and Magic School Bus kids. Now there are device kids and no-device kids.

Kids are way ahead of us in my opinion. Why not?

Another +1 for Fire Kids Edition. My 3 and 5 year old love theirs and it’s easy to control what goes on them and how much time they can spend on it .

Fire tablet plus Amazon freetime.

3yo is fine. Mine has had them since they were 3 (now 5) and they are great for supplemental learning. They are required to exercise with us when they get home with usually a 2 mile bike ride.

Plus they aren't going outside when it's dark so I dunno what y'alls problem is.

ok. You just want to be right. Kind of useless to buy a game system without a game so I just saved $60 plus tax.

Sale.

My wife (no pics) is a Kindergarten teacher and has watched the steady decline in kids' attention spans and general readiness for kindergarten over the past 10 years. Not saying it's just the kids on screens, but it's their parents too.

Are you saying the no device kids are at a disadvantage to learn or that the device kids are clearly addicted to them?

i'm confused as well.

my 5yo loves minecraft and he loves legos. he builds all kinds of crazy stuff in minecraft when he's playing with my phone and he's just as happy to be sitting in front of a giant pile of legos.

his birthday is today so i got him a big minecraft lego kit. now he can do both.

Just because you wanted a game they are throwing in for free for the holidays does not mean the switch is on sale like you originally indicated.

This type of thinking would mean a tv full price at $2000 but throw in a free hdmi cable off the shelf would also be a sale.

you mean the launch title on the system that absolutely everyone is going to buy and that retails for $60?

if my math is right thats 20% of the total cost of the switch, not a free hdmi cable for a $2000 TV meaning that's a pretty sizable discount even if you sell the game or swap for a different one.

Sale.

Damn you’re stubborn as hell. I made a simply analogy for you to understand. I purposely did a high end product with a cheap freebie for you to understand that.

Getting a deal and something on sale isn’t the same thing but you’re too far gone to understand that.

Mario kart also wasn’t a launch title for the switch but it seems you’re not often correct on things ??

My wife is an early education teacher as well. She can identify it as well.

But what she identifies more of an issue are two things.

1) The child that has never been around technology AKA the parent that shielded their kid from "evil technology"

2) the kid that is 100% addicted and parents dont have a clue what they are doing on their technology. This includes gaming/tablets/youtube.

She always says the best case are the kids that do have access to tech. But whose parents are heavily involved in it and sets limits and does tech with them and doesnt use it as a babysitter.

My kids have an IPAD that is "theirs" but they dont have free rain to it and have to ask us to get it out for them. Normally only comes out on rainy days and such.

I agree. If you’re going to have a device make sure it doesn’t become part of the daily routine

I'm saying that those with access to devices are intellectually stunted and malajusted socially. Their brains are rewired to require quick visual and auditory stimuli which results in substandard attention spans and a deficit in processing and cognitive skills.

So that must be why my 5 year old knows how to multiply and divide......

You have no base on your claim.

I dont think kids that age need screen devices as much as they need to develop social skills and learning how to navigate life.
