Just got a ZAGG screen protector but I’m not sure I’m going to keep it. It doesn’t cover the whole screen and it’s really bothering me.

How do you know?
Courts have ruled cops can use your fingerprint while under arrest to unlock your phone . Can they also use your face? If you have a 4 or 6 digit pass code, you do not have to tell them as you have a right to remain silent.

Use the cop button, Apple programmed it for a reason. Turns off Face ID and Touch ID.

make sure you turn off auto-call in settings lmao. just tried it and my phone started blaring a siren with a countdown to call the cops

iPhone guys help me. I've been on Android since the beginning. I have a Note 8 sitting next to me that I actually like a good bit. Negative is the size and it's one of the main reasons I wanted to try my first iPhone was the X has a big screen on a smallish phone. 8 has facial, iris, and touch ID and they all work pretty good. The Facial ID on the X is amazing though.
Some "negatives" on the X:
Dialer. Can someone tell me a way to have it like Android where you start to dial someone's name and contacts show up? How Apple doesn't have this blows my mind. I make a LOT of calls and scrolling contacts or having to go to the search box and type their name adds up to a lot of time doing it. Then you have to erase their name when you want to search the next name. This one is actually big for me.
No back button. Still getting used to it.
No saved drafts in text. If I start a text and need to leave you have to cancel out. Or am I missing something?
Some of their native apps like Calendar and Maps sucked so I downloaded Google calendar and maps but no problem there.
Have you guys had this phone pull at your facial hair? Damn! I haven't shaved in a couple days and I don't have a case on my phone so when it's up to my face I keep getting bit by it
That's another thing, this thing feels so good in your hand but putting a case on it will take that away so I'm struggling with it. Maybe buy a case for when I go on the road but no case at home..
Anyway, looking for advice from you guys on some things iPhone kills Android over and to see if any help on some of my negatives above. I probably have some more but those were what I thought of just now. I'm really looking for a reason to keep it and take a little loss on selling my Note 8

Do the airless earbuds come with the phone? Mine has yet to be sent out by ATT but was curious what comes in the box.

Use Siri? I just go to contacts and put regular calls in favorites. That way you describe may be IP of Android.

Back button isn't needed once you learn the shortcuts.
I don't know what you are talking about in imessage, I can start typing things for a text and go back to main imessage window and select another conversation to send a message and go back to the original conversation and everything I typed is still there.

Yep, use other apps.
There are pros and cons to both OSes, just have to decide what's right for you.

No, you just get the wired ear buds.
I bought the bose sound sport free wireless buds. Love them.
I really enjoy the X overall. The Face ID works surprisingly well in many different conditions. Love the size. Is it worth $1k? Guess that depends on how much you use your phone. All things considered, it’s hard to say it’s not worth the price tag if you’re already invested in the apple ecosystem. If I weren’t.....I don’t think it would be worth jumping ship from android to apple.

Yeah, I guess I need to try using her more and see if that's better. I do have a few in Favorites but you can't put all the numbers I call in there.

What shortcuts? This is what I was looking for, some suggestions.

So what I really wanna know is video. Is the Apple X taking full advantage of that screen real estate with apps like Netflix, amazon video, iTunes movies, etc etc?
If not, I’m going with the 8plus.

I checked out some 4K HD movies from YouTube and it looked great, used the whole screen. My Note 8 looks really good too but I definitely like the “smaller” size of the X.

I’ve already had to go back to the Verizon store twice because of my phone locking up. The first time I was able to power off and when I power back on everything was fine.
Last night it locked up again, but it allowed me limited access to the phone. After about three hours of this, the phone then gave me a message saying there was no Sim card.
I went to the store twice today. First time they took the Sim card out, put it back in, and everything was fine. Then the phone told me again I did not have a Sim card. I went back after work, they put in a new Sim card, and so far everything is working fine.

What exactly are you trying to learn? I feel like most of it comes really easily, but I guess that’s probabaly because some of it follows over from previous iPhones.
You can swipe right at the bottom of your phone and it will immediately jump forward or back between apps. I find this much quicker than multitasking(unless the app you want is like 10 apps back).
There’s the swipe up and right to open up multitasking.
Swipe at the very edge of the screen to move forward or back between webpages. Forward being the right side, back being the left side of the screen. This also works in apps to get to the previous page you were on.
That’s a few instances off the top of my head that a back button would be used. If you have something more specific, let me know.

No, it’s skinnier than the 8 plus, so video size is a bit smaller than the 8 plus at full resolution. Looks like the phone has big bezels while playing a video.

You can go full screen on Netflix and YouTube. I’m sure every app will be updated eventually.

Google maps and pandora need to get on the ball with this update.

Send a short text and then once the conversation is started, it will respond the way you want, it just happens in empty conversations.
