Can someone explain to me what files might fall under ‘media’ on iPhone storage? I’ve tried forums, etc. and haven’t had any luck.

I’ve gotten rid of a ton of files etc tonight, but haven’t made a dent in ‘media’ which is obviously the main issue.

This is exactly why I have an android with an SD card slot. I recently quadrupled the wife's storage for under $30.

Yeah, so I'm not a sheep being tied to apple's by like this....

I've got 12gb of images, 15 gb over video and 130 gb of music files on my phone. I still have 90gb free on my phone (70%) and 75gb free on the SD card. So what you might say. Here's where it matters. By keeping the main phone memory clean, it allows the phone to operate faster as it can use that memory for temporary and cache files.

But it's just an android....

I’m guessing it’s basically all
music. I overlooked that music didn’t have its own color designation on the graph.

Thanks!

That's exactly why I chose my Galaxy. The SD card ensures I never run out of storage. Then Samsung mysteriously decides to get rid of it on the S21...

Protip: download Plex. It's free. Put your music on a fat 14TB drive at home and point Plex to it and stream it anywhere using plexamp app (also free). Never worry about losing your music library again.

Not everywhere in my state has cellphone coverage, in fact a good portion of it does not...

you can download albums or playlists ahead of time as well. This turns your phone storage into 'temp cache' which can be deleted over and over rather than trusting your phone or SD card for your music library.
