not really say i want to use google maps, a far superior maps app than apple maps. (its been around longer, has more data, images, etc.) one can not tell siri to search for a location unless apple maps is installed it literally will not allow me to integrate siri with google maps i have to use the apple version. its sickening really.
I rather use waze than either of them. So I'd still just do the same thing.
Dam come on thats just dishonest. i'm the biggest waze-whore on here but if i'm looking up something i want to see it in google maps so i can read the reviews, hours of operation etc.

My wife just got the new iPhone 8plus.
I have the Samsung S7 Edge.
Her iPhone runs circles around mine in day to day activities. Mine gets sluggish and requires me to restart frequently. She doesn't even know how to restart hers cause she doesn't have to (she does but you get my point).
But yea, ok. I don't believe what someone else says. I've seen different EVERY DAY with my own 2 eyes.

step 1: remove the 750,000 shitty apps from your phone that are slowing it down.

fwiw i have a hard time believing that a S7 is as snappy as a brand new iphone 8 as well. For starters it has better benchmarks, and secondly its brand new.

quote:i was in no way comparing them to the notes exploding battery. I was actually going to preface with explaining the faults Samsung had with the notes but i figured the people here would know that that was unacceptable and the issues had been fixed.
He was comparing scope of debacles, it did set the bar for how not to produce a smartphone.
But no you really thought i was comparing the Notes exploding battery issue to the iphone bulging battery and iOS 11 issues. thats really funny .

The original post compares them to an 8. Basically the same thing.

these people have poor resource management, and wonder why their NEW phone with no apps and no bloat tying up ram runs faster than their old one.
what a joke.

Yelp, I have google maps installed, but that is because of it's integration with a gaming app that shall remain nameless. It's specifically designed to work with GMaps because it's originally a Google game.
I use GMaps a lot on PC as well.

I used it as walking motivation for awhile. It got me out during lunch breaks and away from the office. The events are a lot of fun though.
If you read that one thread you posted in the screenshot, he mentions the new hard reset. Have you seen that yet? You got to quick press two buttons and then hold another. It's the damn konami code to reset the phone now. That's terrible.

1st rule of the Tech Board is whether he's right or not you never, EVER, say Cad was right.

This is just laughable. The huge, huge majority of people have no problems at all

i havent heard of any debacle with Notes. Unless you are talking about Note 7's. In which case i don't even know what you are trying to say.
IOS is having issues but its ok because the Note had exploding batteries a year ago? If so i guess man.
You're being intellectually dishonest or purposefully obtuse if this is your response.
People are comparing Samsungs and Apples, someone brought up the "bulge" issue, and I responded by noting that Samsung had a major phone change airline rules (and go through a historically significant recall).
I can't imagine you weren't able to follow that.

yeah wtf is up with that? drives my wife nuts when she's trying to find a nearby restaurant or something and it pops up a list in albany, NY
I would understand (sort of) if it was some exact match for a place in Albany but not locally.
But seriously, I'll put in "Time Alterations" and it'll bring up one with that name in another state as a hit ABOVE the one with the same name 8 miles away.

as much as i think all tech companies are incestous pools of liberalthink disease, would it kill apple and amazon and google to work together?
google does maps & search. the end. apple just needs to swallow their massive spaceship campus pride and pay google to use that.
likewise google should put youtube app back on firetvs and amazon should sell chromecasts and connect alexa to google search results.
do all tech companies feel like they have to build their own maps and their own search?
cant we all jsut get along?
