iPhone 7 or Galaxy S7- trying to decide

Hey guys, new to the tech board, and sorry if this has been talked about already.
I'm about to upgrade to a new phone, and am deciding between these two. I've used iPhones for forever and am super comfortable with the software which is why I have never gone to an Android.
But the iPhone7 and the S7 seem to be super comparable and the S7 seems to have some clear advantages from an untrained eye. What do y'all think?? Thanks!

Was coming to post this same thread
Been an iPhone guy forever, but recently the Samsung Galaxy active caught my eye... I really need a durable phone and I'm getting kind of tired of having an apple phone and just want to try something new... I was hoping to get some feedback from other people who made the switch and see what they have to say about it.. I'll learn more from them than I will commercials or in store sales people..
Is it now possible to group text with people who have iPhones? I did have an android for a month or so a while back and I remember the group texting was a pain in the arse...
Any input is appreciated

What are you waiting for? Pull the trigger. New is always better.

Depends on the situation I guess

I have had iPhones from the beginning. I was able to see the newest Samsung phone and watch over Labor Day as my nephew had one. I've got to admit it. It was extremely impressive. He kept throwing both in the pool and the grandkids would swim to find it. (No cover or anything). Something I would NEVER do water-resistant or not, LOL.
It has great integration with the watch.
My problem is the rock-solid reliability/dependability of iPhones/iOS. I always buy the highest memory model. I have every picture, video, music, message, since early 2008. I don't buy the in b/w models (s). Gone from 3, 4, 5, 6. None have ever given a problem. I backup daily & that is backed up to RAID.
Also, for me is that they hold their value. I can resell this 6 for top dollar as it will be 2 years old in 2 weeks and is basically in mint condition. I don't take them out of the box w/o a glass screen protector, a Speck thin silicone w/ shell cover and never remove the film on the back that comes in the box (just cut around the camera/flash w/ a razor knife). Never had a cracked screen or a single scratch on any. I clean the ports, polish, take pictures and post them for sale. I end up paying about half for the new phone.
That's why I'm in a quandary.

Just don't.
Galaxy and Android are POS if you are moving from the latest versions of iPhone.

I'm just very anal as these are expensive devices. It only takes a few minutes to complete out of the box & then I never have to do anything else until it's time to sell.
The main problem w/ Apple is they just think their products can keep selling year-over-year in a saturated market even though "Guess what, the 7/+ are the same price as the 6s/+!!!" To roaring applause. You mean your top of the line PHONE isonly $1050 w/ tax?!? Wow, how generous.
It reminds me of that plastic 5c that was intended to be a "more affordable and budget-friendly" option & I read a comment on a tech board: "Geez, was that affordable model cheaper by a nickel or a dime?"
I LMFAO.

2 year with verizon expired on 8/29. I got the Galaxy 7 Edge as my upgrade. Verizon employee said they had a promotion and the goggles were free.
After checking my account they noticed I had purchased the Verizon tablet two years ago. since that thing sucked they also threw in a Note 3 tablet with the new 2 year contract.
had to pay for phone that is it

I've actually held onto all of my old iphones, usually my sister ends up using whatever model I replace.
This time I'm considering selling my iphone 6+ and was wondering where you sell yours for the largest profit?

Private sale over Craigslist. NO FEES.
I sold my 5 over eBay w/ PayPal pmt. BIG MISTAKE. First and last time I sell over that. Final bid was $425 if I remember correctly. After eBay and PayPal took their listing and fees, I ended w/ around $370 or close.
If you're phone is in good, excellent, or mint condition, list it on Craigslist. Make sure you have cleaned it thoroughly and taken high-quality pictures from different angles.
You will receive multiple emails (keep email private, use Craigslist internal email where they relay the message to you.)
Meet in a public place for transaction and accept only cash.
I've sold others to people I know.

Mr. Hangover, also forgot to mention, iMessage's new features will only make things worse for texting to non-iOS devices. If you think Apple is about to release ANYTHING to Android, you're kidding yourself, at least not in the immediate future. You never know w/ Apple, but's it's never happened in their history. They do not want trouble-free secure connectivity/compatibility with other OSes or devices. That's another reason I like iOS, the built-in and add-on apps are so tightly integrated, not to mention security and ease of use. Everyone else is still using 20-year old SMS/MMS insecure texting over their carrier. (Of course there are add-on apps that support encryption, FB Messenger, for instance. No thank you: I don't need FB (or any other company) knowing everything about my life.
