The download it stored to your computer, not the phone... If you DL to your phone, you have to have space for the old software, new software, and anything else needed to execute the install.

I turned off the wifi sync on my phone, so no I just had it connected to my iMac. It'll be fine.
For some reason my phone always loads some shitty songs my wife bought to my music, hopefully this fixed that.

Mine went from 5 minutes to 8 hours and now down to 4 hours

My download said 15 minutes in total. Installed, crashed, restore took 5 or so...and...now it's done. frick. It's completely erased and now it's putting all of music and apps and whatever the frick back on it.

Yeah, it basically formats the phone, puts the new iOS on it, then syncs it back with all of your stuff.

I am downloading on my Pro at home. said 4 hours for about 30 minutes while i was there. hopefully when I get off at 5 it will be finishing up.

Question if I use iTunes and it downloads the update will it save it on the hard drive? I have 3 ipads and 3 iphones in the house that need to update and I don't want to wait 5 hours for each to download.

You won't. However, it may try to download each time. I don't know if it keeps it stored. However, don't judge download times of people that did it right at launch. Those will always take much longer. If you do it this weekend, you shouldn't take 5 hours each.
