Wandera's report shows how, on average, an iPhone or iPad running iOS 10 takes 240 minutes of usage to drain the battery from 100 percent to zero. With iOS 11 installed, this number plummets to just 96 minutes -- over twice as fast.

I usually leave my phone off power in the evening, sometimes for FBD, and I usually have 50% or more the next morning. This morning it was at 45%

I can't get mine to charge directly from the computer. It says Accessory may not be supported. Wasn't having an issue last week.

I haven't done any formal testing as above but thought mine has been draining faster than usual this week as well.

I don't know about on an older phone, but I have the 8 and I'm still at 91% right now at 1:40 and I took it off of charge at 5:15 this morning. That seems pretty good.

My 8 plus isn’t having issues. Maybe it’s just the processor but I would think with a smaller battery compared to the 7 plus it’d be a wash

That's not what the people that did the study assumed, they talked about FaceID scanning and people poking around new features of a new OS. But I'm assuming a lot of this is older models. It happens every upgrade cycle, the older models aren't as well optimized and it takes a patch or 2 before performance is back to normal.

If you look at your battery usage, that will give you a good indication. I use FT Audio quite often and it made up 70% of my battery drain.

iPhone 7 here. Haven’t had any issues personally. Seems about the same as iOS 10.

I'd wait for 11.0.1

7 here. No power issues but the damn thing constantly turns my screen brightness down. Very annoying.

Edit: Just did a search and auto control was moved to accessibility, under display accommodations. However, display accommodations shows "Off". You have to enter and switch off auto control. What a PITA!

I've got a 6s and noticed that every time I rebooted my phone, bluetooth was on. I usually turn it off in the control center. I also woke up a couple of mornings to 1% and bluetooth connected to a device. Turns out, Apple made a change and turning bluetooth or wireless off in the control center doesn't actually turn it off. You have to turn them off in settings. That could be a contributing factor for some. Bluetooth always on?

The change in behavior is a strange one, but Apple seems to have its heart in the right place here. Whereas before toggling either WiFi or Bluetooth off from Control Center would disable the respective radio, now all it does is disconnect from the WiFi network or Bluetooth devices that are connected at the time. This, according to Apple, is what most people used the toggles for, so the company decided to change the way the buttons behave. Makes sense, right?

So this is a feature and not a bug. Is there some big cost to turning BT/Wifi off and on? I'd agree that the majority of the time I'm just looking to reset my connection, but sometimes I do want it to be turned off and I just don't see what's wrong with letting it do that.

This isn't an iOS 11 issue, but I didn't feel like starting a new thread. It was happening in 10 as well. Apparently I bought a Living Social deal for donuts back in 2013. There used to be a Shipley's donuts in the building next to where I work, but they closed it down a couple of years ago. A few times a day when I pick up my phone, there will be an alert on the lock screen for this LS deal, saying there is one nearby. I have already redeemed it, I logged into LS just to make sure, and it is marked as redeemed. Any way to get this to go away? I don't even have the LS app on this phone.

I've never had the LS app but I would assume it's notifications work like everyone else's and are tied to the app's notifications permissions. Go to your notifications settings and see if it's there and turn off notifications for it. If it's not there you might reinstall the LS app just to go to the settings to turn it off before uninstalling it again.

Check your wallet app maybe?

I know my boarding passes and what not show up in there and appear on my home screen until I remove them from my wallet.

That was it. Thanks. I didn't realize anything was in there. It was this old LS deal and a hunting license. I don't remember adding either of them.
